MJK has a great imagination and allows thier fans to use thiers. Every story may have a different interpretation to the listener. The only person that knows the meaning of the story they are telling is the story teller themselves. And the great thing about TOOL is they allow us to use our minds to find our own interpretation.
By reading this thread I see its working. The bottom line is they are artist and they are creating great music and Im sure the songs mean something to the band but it could be just as they tell it rather than what you want it to be
MJK has said that songs on this album are like small films and i cant wait till they make some sort of full length movie or something along those lines.

billy talent is canadian they are talking about CANDA flag, and the rest i think is just an excuse to "sing" something..... although some of the disjointed lines do point toward some kind of ... fight. AND since the flag was mentioned a national fight AKA a war?!
the line "We don't need them" .... reminds me of CIVIL war... BUUUUT since canada didn't really have a civil war.... closest thing is quebec wanting soverignty..... MUST BE

He's getting sick of it. He was always there for her when she needed him. It sounds like he pays the rent from the line "I wanna see you out that door". On the other hand, it can also have a more symbolic meaning. The door may actually represent the boy's life and by her being out that door, it means out of his life rather than just leaving the door.
"And you weren't there for me" probably signifies that there were event(s) that occured where he was counting on her and she wasn't there for him. These events probably meant a lot to him and he was really upset that she didn't do all that he expected. I think he's overreacting by deciding to leave her because of it. "You're probably gonna start a fight" signifies this because it shows that the girl really cares about him leaving and that she isn't as bad as he says she is.
In conclusion, i think that the boy is being quite immature. He needs to cool down and think things over before he does anything stupid based on preemptive emotional responses. However, if he doesn't learn to control his feelings, it might be better than both of them to split. |

people who don't like bsb should just go away instead of giving all this bad feedback. They should realize that bsb isn't geared towards the same audence or generation as those heavy bands. It's for the generation that didn't grow up amid economical and political instability. the market doesn't have that same angst that was the norm during the 70's. If they're into that stuff then MOVE ON. |

hummmm i think that the song doesn't really mean that they are drowning after i listened to it. Drowning means water filling ur lungs since you have no air. Instead, since all their songs are about love or whatnot, i think that it's about drowning in not water but love. Upon further analysis, i do not think that they mean drowning in too much love, rather they are emphasizing that they are surrounded by love by their lover.

Like idiot box, i really don't think this song has a meaning. Before actually listening to the song and just reading the lyrics i thought it was about a boy around 10 talking to a girl that he likes. After listening however, it all sounded really random, because of the way it was sang and the quirky beat.
