Ben Moody’s Story about Haunted : Quote: A little girl around 8 or 9 in a little white Easter dress is walking down a neighborhood street bouncing a little red ball. As she approaches an obviously deserted large house with a sinister demeanor, her attention moves from the ball to the house. Not paying attention to her bouncing, the ball hits the curb and ricochets toward the house. As she chases the little red ball toward the house, the ball picks up unnatural momentum and bounces right into the huge gaping front door. The little girl pauses for a moment, looks up at the house, which now appears to be staring down at her, and cautiously enters the house in search of her little red ball. as she slowly walks into the atrium, she surveys the decaying mess that once was obviously a beautiful mansion. She becomes mesmerized by the exquisite detail of every inch of the banister winding up the seemingly endless staircase in front of her. Suddenly her thoughts are broken by a horrifying commotion. She's now clothed in black pants, work boots, and a black wife beater. Her skin is pale and dirty. Sun has not graced her flesh in over a decade. She wakes to find a meal placed on a dirty silver tray before her, just enough to sustain life, just like every morning before. Placed there by a figure she can only see in passing, around a corner, walking through a door.... a figure that has become her only friend, and her only hate. this song is definetli not about amy herself, if u want the truth just read wat spyder5734, SnowWhite_Cinni (who is also rite about the sibling part: laurie-14, carrie-12 (or the other way) n robbie-9), beau99, LaDiablo (definteli LaDiablo, they r 100% rite, n it was a personal comment directly from amy herself), Carrie Lee’s fascination with pop stars such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera was the inspiration for the song. | i m sick of ppl bitchin about what kind of bands ppl can or cant like because they like another type of band. amy lee is a huge fan of korn also. ppl need to relax. my relation to a song is allowed to be completeli different then yours. artists want them to be different for everyone so fans can c relations n feel comfortable with the song. but some ppl get to into music. evanescence is my favorite but listen to varities. i like eminem also because he sings about his life n real life events. so those who hate him, one song from his new album encore is an apology to those who dissed his daughter (the 1 person he cares the most for) in their song. i give him respect just for how he cares for her n thats wat matters the most to me, no matter wat happened he gives her wat he can. evanescence is definetly no fav tho. you dont even have to like every song from a band/artist/group, if 1 particular song stands out then settle for just that 1. sum one told me that bring me to life can be sex related, it means that to him, not me. if he probably didnt c it like that then he probably wouldn't like it n if i did c it like that, i probabli wouldn't like it. wat ever helps you is wat it truli means. | i agree with emily_pnkflyd016 (and others who feel the same way), never download song from an artist you truli respect. i admit i download songs from artists, but never evanescence's, also amy isn't the onli one to write the songs. tourniquet was by rocky gray. My Immortal, Imaginary, Haunted, Anywhere, and Understanding were all written by ben moody. amy wrote going under with the help of ben. she did write hello by herself because it is about her sister who died at age 3 (amy was 6). she also wrote give unto me and solitude. john lecompt wrote forever gone forever you. ben, john, amy, and david hodges together wrote taking over me. i think we owe the whole band credit. ever one gives amy the credit, true she is an excellent vocalist/songwriter and stands out from the band because she is the onli girl n not many girls r in rock bands, but every member has contributed to their success. | |
