| This song is amazing thats really all that can be said about it....Its my song with my boyfriend and everytime i hear this song I'm reminded about when me and him got back together and about when we heard this song how perfect it described the way we feel about eachother even while we were no longer together this song will always remind me of the man that has my heart and how much we've fought to be together and how great everything is now because of it.... to me this song is love...pure and simple. | |

i think that this song is a representation of life itself... the whole nothin on top but a bucket and a mop thing means that, no matter how hard u work for something life is like a plateu u keep working hard to get to the top and then u have to work even harder to stay there and after ur done working the only place to go is down,and this line "Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau Some belong to strangers and some to folks you know Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand To beautify the foothills and shake the many hands" is further proof that this song could be about life, and even though this was a meat puppets cover i think this song really sounds like something kurt would say.... |

| Listen all the debates about whether or not there was a suicide or murder why dont we all stop talking about that. He was a really deep person who didnt conform and just about hated anything that had to do with popularity. His lyrics were deep and his music touched generations and is still afecting them even a decade after his death. This song just like many of his others reflected deep emotions about events occuring in his life. It cant be said exactly what it was about since he isnt around to explain it In my opinion it seems to be not only about drugs but also not conforming and the problems he faced by standing out. " Im not like them but i can pretend...etc" means hes not mainstream but he can still have fun being himself. I think im dumb but maybe just happy... means not so much that he thinks he is dumb as in not smart but that sometimes he wonders why he doesnt just conform that maybe he'll be happy. My heart is broke but i have some glue can mean that he might have been hurt by the things said about him or how people treated him but that he'll get through it. Then drugs can come into play when he talks about inhaling and hangovers because he might have felt that drugs help get him through being away from people. Maybe it can even be said that this song describes his early teen years when fitting in can mean the world to some... Anyway those are my thoughts lol think i wrote enough?? ;) | |
