| This reminds me of my boy friend. We were together about a year ago, and i dumped him because of all the things he was into-alcohol, drugs, sex like crazy (sep when we were together). | Well, it sounds as if they are running for their lives from someone, as if they're illigal aliens crossing the border, and they get caught, and split up. But of course, it has a deeper meaning that just that simple analogy. Over the past week end, i was away from my best friend, whom i love dearly, possibley more than a friend (i'm a chick, he's a guy). And as i listened to this song after i hadn't talk to him for about 3 days (dramatic, i know), i just started crying, and every word seemed to peirce my insides. So i think it's about love. (But i mean, what would you think in my situation?) I think it's about how two people fall in love....maybe young love....and spend every min. together, and then have to leave or move for some reason. ok......i read it as soon as i got it, cuz i haven't heard it in forever, and it just started playing in my mind. By the way, the line that says "Your breath in this cool room chill" it's wrong, it's supose to be "your breath is cool and chill"...... Anyway, i think it's that he's drinking his problems away (6 bottles down the drain).....and there's a girl with him, and he's "still pushing the chance to try", if you know what i mean. And he's obsessed with her, and has been for a long time, and because of that obsession, he doesn't weird things to please her....(you have me forever and after)....if you've ever been obsessed with someone, you know what i mean, you'll do anything to please them. I think it means that he met someone, and mad a really bad first impression, got to know her more, but she still goes back to that first impression alot. nandecatur......i totally agree with your comment about him seeing her, and realizes he needs her, loves her, etc. He goes to meet her to tell her that he's sorry and how beautiful she is. He had to find her cuz he needs her. He wants to have a good relationship with her where they tell secrets, ask questions and know each other really well. I'm guessing they HAD a relationship, and it didn't work out, so now he just wants to start over now that he knows what he did wrong. Where it says: "Running in circles, Calling tails, heads on a silence apart." Personally, i think he's going crazy because he cant have her. He realizes that the relationship wasn't easy, and it never is, and it's so sad to watch her walk away as he does the same. He says that no one said it was easy, but no one said that it was THAT hard. I think it's saying that nothing can ever match how much he loves her. And now that she's gone she almost 'haunts' his thoughts. This song makes you start bawling if something like this has just happened. It discribes PERFECTLY how you feel. Course, this song makes me cry every time i listen to it anyway, even though my experience was more than 3 years ago. |

GO SKA!!!!! I like all kinda of music exept country, and i love the black eyed peas. When i'm all paranoid, and what not, this song seems to expakin exactly what i'm feeling. I think in this song, they're telling about how freaky the world is now-a-days. Like when he says "Terrorizing my soul like Bin Laden" and "And I don't fear bullets from Uzi's". I just think the meaning to this whole song is to just "bitch slap" someone into seeing how scary the world can be. "My bloods boiling its beatin' out propaine My train of thought's more like a runaway train I'm in a fast car drivin' in a fast lane In the rain and I'm might just hydroplane" Then i think he's trying to be brave by saying "I don't fear none of my enemies And I don't fear bullets", but then contridicting himself by saying Paranoias brought me to my knees Lord please please please Take away my anxiety The sane and the insane rivalry Paranoias brought me to my knees Lord please please please Take away my anxiety" So my conclusion is that he's trying to get people to see how freaky the world is now, and sometimes we dont realize how scary it really can be. The eerie-ness of it seems to call out a warning. We're living in a weird world, and things like "1000 people dead" that are on the news have become almost normal. These things aren't normal and are signs that are world is changing possible for the worse. This is just how i picture the song, espeically after i read the lyrics carefully. |

I thank you for actually giving reasons why you hate her and her songs, and i also thank you greatly for doing your research, insted of being like these slime-balls just saying they hate her, but wont give a reason why. ya, she contridicts herself, so what? Doesn't everyone? She's only human you know. I'm only 15, and i realize there are alot better bands and singers out there like Styx, Journey, Toto, and i like them all because they write their own music for real, unlike Avril. But what do you expect? It's 2004, almost 2005, and hardly anyone writes their own music now-a-days because they're all to lazy. I just like her cuz her songs seem to speak to me, even if they really aren't HER songs. THE songs seems to speak to me. They are at least better than Brittany or Hilary's. This song makes me feel like there is someone out there in this f-ed up world that knows how i feel. I think everyone can relate to this song in somewhy or another. About 8 months ago, i had an experience with a guy who made me feel so bad about myself, expecially after he had gone out of my life. So i feel that the verse that says: "Gotta get away, There's no point in thinking about yesterday It's too late now, it won't ever be the same We're so different now, yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah" kind of gives me a slap in the face saying "forget about it and move on with your life girl!!!!!" Also, to me the chorus tells about how i feel about everything right now. I do like kind of eerie stuff, so i liked this song from the second i heard it. I dont nessisarily call all that screaming, cuz to me screaming sounds aweful, so i'd call that more of beautiful yelling or something. That's just me. i am me- Dude, take a chill pill man. First of all, if you hate her that bad, you'd think you'd stay as far away from anything to do with her as much as possible. Second, dont come raggin on us just because we liker her. If you want to come in here and bitch about her, then fine, but at least have a good reason why you hate her. I used to hate her because everyone else did, but then i realized.....duh, what am i thinking? And after i heard this song espeically, i realized, well, she's pretty cool. Plus, you cant say you hate her because to hate someone, you have to know them, and their interests. I"m guessing that you dont know her at all. I'm not saying that i know her, but i like her songs, they seem to speak directly to me. As for liking her, well, i wouldn't know cuz i dont know her.
