| Blue October – Hate Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song hits so close to home because I could see my ex singing this to me...except so many people think the girl is so dedicated to him she doesn't want it to end...I see it more like my situation--girl leaves boy because she can't stand what he did to her, then he retaliates by writing this song, telling her that the memory of her plagues him, that she was the only one that could keep his head above water, and now that she's left him he says "Hate me...go ahead, do it...hate me for all the things I didn't do for you, hate me so you can finally realise I wasn't good enough, that you can do better." And the part about "the thing that tore us apart is the one thing I'll never touch again"...I never liked the fact that my ex drank, and since we broke up he became sober. |

Well, as Gord Downie once said before playing this song live: "This is about a man who was sort've down on his luck. So he took to the streets shaking a banana at people, trying to convince them it was making a sound." Amazing song. I prefer it live. |

| Cake – Hem of Your Garment Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I love this song! Like it's been mentioned, I think it's an angry song to an ex-girlfriend who broke up with him because she felt he was cold and soulless, and she must have made him feel insignificant in some way to make him think he wasn't fit to touch the hem of her garment... | |
| Limp Bizkit – Stuck Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I thought I was the only one that noticed the Suicidal Tendencies reference. What a great song, "Institutionalized." Any credit/acknowledgment given to them? I don't think so... This song ("Stuck") is ok; I couldn't stop laughing the first few times I heard it when he said "Stuck on yourself, you are" near the end and sounded just like Yoda with a sore throat. And yeah, he's with a girl who just wants him for his money in this. Not complicated. |

...Why? Is this for real? |

| Limp Bizkit – No Sex (feat. Aaron Lewis) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I love this song, and it's definitely serious and I see it like that, but I do admit it's amusing and I still laugh when Fred says "It's my ass," as many times as I've heard that song. Like I said, great song, but that's a really bad line. It's fairly obvious what this one's about; he went too far too fast with a girl and now all they do is have sex. |

| Nirvana – Old Age Lyrics | 21 years ago |

...Creed's front man is Scott Stapp. Eddie Vedder fronts Pearl Jam. I don't think those lyrics are right for the 1:08 clip floating around, but I'm not exactly sure what they are myself, so no matter... I think it's about depression. Utter depression, a failing relationship, and how they're related to aging. |
|
| Foo Fighters – Disenchanted Lullaby Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I don't think it's quite that vulgar...I think it's about someone fairly dysfunctional who's in love with someone else and has been for quite a while, and it's tearing him apart because she's been rather distant and skeptical about the relationship. He's claiming that even though he's screwed up, he's the best person around for her. | |
| Kittie – Get Off (You Can Eat A Dick) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Love/hate relationship, trying to survive despite the mental abuse, trying to rise above, blaming him, then in the end asking for forgiveness, because maybe it's her fault too. | |
| Heavens To Betsy – Firefly Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Seems to be about motherhood; the raising of a child and the fear of letting it go. | |
| Hole – Old Age Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think the music is Nirvana's and the lyrics are Courtney's. Anyway...I think the song is about a woman getting older and becoming bitter and jaded. She's alone, she's ignored, and she is angry, but at the end there seems to be a promise, a glimmer of hope; someday things will get better, even if it's simply through death. |

| Hole – Retard Girl Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It's about how Courtney felt alienated growing up, through the eyes of a tormentor. It's not ignorant; just cathartic. | |
| Violent Femmes – Add It Up Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I love how insistent and desperate for sex he seems to get through the entire song...then it seems like he gives up and "leaves it up to her," thoroughly frustrated and ready to leave. There's the whole end part missing, though, while he's screaming "Add it up...": Day after day I get angry And I will say That the day Is in my sight When I’ll take a bow And say goodnight |

| The Beatles – I Am the Walrus Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I know this song has "no meaning" and is nonsense and all, but before I knew this I always saw it as a song about a deranged sexual fantasy...if you really look, almost every line could be a smirking innuendo. | |
| Heavens To Betsy – My Red Self Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| What a beautiful song about the period! | |
| Nirvana – Love Buzz Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I love the original and this one...the original is odd, but the two songs are almost completely different. I think the song is about someone in love who's unintentionally abusive towards the love interest; in other words, he hurts the girl he loves, but is trying to tell her she means the world to him and doesn't mean to hurt her. |
