| Tool – Right in Two Lyrics | 19 years ago |

My friend and I bought this album the day it came out. My friend mentioned that it reminded him of the New Orleans crisis, where even though everyone was in the same dillemma, they couldn't help but loot things they never needed, and try to take territory. Sort of how no matter what the situation is, humans (referred to as monkies) will end up getting animalistic. Funny thing was, just before I bought the album, I had the urge to write a similar song, and refer to humans as animals.... maybe Maynard is speaking to me telepathically? :/ |

| I think that the woman in this track sounds like Tori Amos... | |
| Tool – 4 Degrees Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Well, that's an interesting point about elevation, Philidelphia Eagles, but I think it's probably more of a temperature thing than an angle thing, because he specifically says "4 degress warmer", not just 4 degrees higher. | |

| KrOnick, if you were paying attention, these aren't exactly lyrics. It's a hate message from some guy to a member of Tool (or perhaps everyone in Tool) | |

There are so many different interpretations of this song... noone's really seems perfectly right to anyone else, I don't think. There's always something missing when you read an interpretation. Maybe this song is about just that? That trying to figure out this song is sort of like prying open your third eye... no matter how much meditating or drug-taking or whatever you do, it never seems close enough to opening your third eye. I think that might be something this song deals with.... I've heard interpretations that this song is about chilling out and doing drugs, about a penis, about meditation, about chakras, blah blah blah... thing is, that none of these are probably right... if I wanted to, I could say that Maynard was insinuating about being gay, and that "I came out to watch you play" meant he was coming out of the closet... but that wouldn't be right either (and I don't actually believe that :p)... no matter who says what, I can almost guarantee only Maynard knows. Peace out. Have fun prying open your third eye. |

Oh, and one moe note: The part in the lyrics where it says "Now I've got my body bak against the wall" is not sung/screamed in the cover. The cover lyrics are more like this: "All of my hate cannot be bound. I will not be drowned by your thoughtless scheming. So you can try to tear me down; Beat me to the ground: I will see you screaming. Thumbing through the pages of my fantasies; Pushing all the mercy down, down, down. I wanna see you try to take a swing at me. Come on, gonna put you on the ground, ground, ground . Why are you trying to make fun of me? You think it's funny, What the fuck you think it's doing to me? You take your turn lashing out at me! I want you crying with your dirty ass* in front of me! (Chorus) Thumbing through the pages of my fantasies; I'm above you, smiling at you, drown, drown, drown. I wanna kill and rape you the way you raped me... And I pull the trigger And you're down, down, down. (pre-chorus) (chorus) All my friends are gone, they died. They all screamed, and cried... I'm gonna take you down! (repeat several times) (chorus)" *= In the cover it sounds slightly like she may say "I want you crying while you're burning down in front of me"... choose what you like best, as no official KoRn lyrics have been released. |

My youngest sister got the Anywhere But Home DVD, and I was amazed at how good this cover was. I've been listening to KoRn for about two years now, and I own all their albums. Just to clear some things up, seeig as it seems the Evanescence fans don't listen to KoRn, and the KoRn fans think Evanescence "sucks": (to Total Darkness)I've no idea about Amy being raped, though she's mentioned it in Evanescence songs as well. I do know that Jonathan Davis, lead of KoRn, was raped as a child, though not by the people he's talking about in this particular song. I believe the raping and killing are just metaphors for the abuse he received. And, to the general KoRn audience: Evanescence does not suck. The guitars are a little shoddy, the bass is unintelligible, and the drums are mediocre, but Amy Lee makes up for all of that with her vocal and piano talent. The gist of this song is mildly related to the Columbine High School shooting. Keep in mind that he (Davis, not Lee) isn't exactly siding with the killers, but he's saying he can't side with the people who got shot either. They were generally assholes to the shooters, and they pushed them a little too hard. He's just saying that he can relate to them and the way they feel/felt. If any of the Evanescence fans haven't heard this song, or any KoRn songs, I would highly recommend listening to some KoRn. I would recommend the following songs: Blind, Shoots and Ladders, Clown (similar to this one in meaning), Got the Life, BBK, Twist, ADIDAS, Good God, Falling Away From Me, Somebody Someone, This one (Thoughtless), Here To Stay I would also suggest looking into the following bands: Tool, A Perfect Circle, David Usher, Pink Floyd, Creed, SlipKnot, Disturbed and Linkin Park (although I know most Evanescence fans like LP as well) Thank you for your time and patience. To me, this song is simply about not knowing what's real and what isn't. It seems very surreal to me. I love Maynard's writing. And, on a different note, some of you people ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Why are you all so homophobic? And, I mean, if you're going to insult gay people, the least you could do is add the commas and periods, and be creative about it for Christ's sake. Some of you guys are outrageously hypocritical... how can you listen to Tool and be a homophobic simpleton? It defeats the purpose. Maybe you should all take another listen to Jerk-Off or Intolerance? |
