Yeah I saw them play this live too and it was a highlight. It sounds amazing, should definitely be a future single. The guitars remind me of the bit at the end of the intro bit in 'Take Me Out'. The lyrics might be about the anger and impotence the protagonist feels about how his lover was treated in a past relationship. The diary could also be a metaphor for our tendency to constantly compare current experiences to previous ones, a 'golden age' attitude causing unhappiness in the present. Or maybe that's too deep... |

This track is superb, particulary with it being such a sharp contrast to the rock/techno stuff on the rest of album. The religious interpretation seems valid but to me its more about starting a new relationship after a previous one ended badly. You should 'Open Up Your Heart' to a new partner, in spite of the pain you could suffer as a result. Hence 'Take A Chance', 'Fight The Urge To Say No', 'Kill Your Fears Today' and "You Can Do It You've Been Burned'. |
