| Ex Models – Sex Automata Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this song is so fucking good. | |
| A.C. Newman – Miracle Drug Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| actually now that i've listened to it on repeat a couple more times, it sounds almost like the story of three phases in someone's life: as in birth, adolescence, and then adulthood. then the last line that repeats the first just brings it back to the beginning and begins the cycle all over again. that's what i get from it. | |
| A.C. Newman – Miracle Drug Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this is such a great intro to this cd. it catches your ear amazingly. and thinking about it briefly, i have no idea what this song is about. | |
| Death from Above 1979 – Dead Womb Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this song is so fucking tight. | |
| Bloc Party – This Modern Love Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
at the "jump right on" point, i hear (change in CAPS): You told me you wanted to eat up my sadness Well jump on, enjoy, you can gorge away You told me you wanted to eat up my sadness Jump RIGHT Baby, you've got to be more discerning I've known never known what's good for me Baby, you've got to be more demanding JUMP LEFT |

| Ambulance LTD – Anecdote Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| agree with madison5. sounds like "losers use" and while i don't know what this song is about and a lot of the phrases chosen sound like it could do with drugs, i don't really get that impression. | |
| Kaiser Chiefs – I Predict a Riot Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| why does everyone think this song is about some "mad hot sweaty night on the town" or some crap like that? and why do i hear what boss_2k said? it sounds like they're singing about the seedier areas of nightlife. | |
| The Bravery – Fearless Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| the most blunt way to think of that line would probably be sex. i may be wrong but with a line like "eat me out" it's pretty easy to assume... | |
| Circle Takes the Square – Non-Objective Portrait of Karma Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| while i agree with saint about the art aspect of her comment, i find the line "neglect leads..." is more ironic than literal | |
| The Honorary Title – Bridge & Tunnel Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
what i hear in the bridge: well (while?) there's no one else around been waiting for countless hours though you would never, you would never measure up c-c-c-cause baby we'll all soon come to an end c-c-c-cause baby we'll all soon come to an end |
|
| The Honorary Title – Frame By Frame Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| i'm not completely sure but i think it could also be about addiction and not being able to let go of it while every day just runs into the next. | |
| The Blood Brothers – Trash Flavored Trash Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| i think a lot of blood brothers songs have to do with television, or media. so isn't that kind of a given? | |
| Death Cab for Cutie – Tiny Vessels Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
to .nothing.special. -> yeah, i sensed a resemblance between this and a brand new song but instead i linked it to brand new's "me vs. maradona vs. elvis". same premise as this song. obviously it's not only guys who do this, but with a guy singer, it evokes the same kind of feeling of empathy instead of sympathy. or just listen to owen "skin and bones" instead. it's a good compromise between the boy/girl argument. |

| Circle Takes the Square – Non-Objective Portrait of Karma Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
this is based on a loosely-constructed guess but it seems to me to be about a contempt for mankind, misanthropy to some extent. there's a lot about backstabbing i.e. "scratch my back and I will stab you in yours so I chose to live this life alone, without the teeth marks but I predict, I'll have to sink my fangs in someone else's heart to heal my own" "the more I feel my backs' increasingly compelled for the sake of escape, to turn a knife on itself" and also just an overall feeling of contempt along with a volatile indifference (which may be because of the way it's sung) but is also apparent through the lyrics: "from all the petty insight" + "'neglect leads to perfection'" so forth. however these could all be easily formatted to express politics or whatever. uh...whatever. this song is extremely well-written/sung/screamed/played/you get it. listen to it. |

| The Blood Brothers – Metronomes/The Butchery Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| incomplete thought from before: does anyone know the lyrics or even the title of the song that comes after this on the unreleased part of the album? | |
| The Blood Brothers – Metronomes/The Butchery Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think that "And the national looks like a new And the national looks over our schools" is actually "And the metronome clicks like anew And the metronome clicks over our schools" The rest of the lyrics otherwise sound pretty good but it's always hard to tell for sure. And ^ to shfifty five, they might be releasing it....later on? in an interview, the bassist mentioned an ep they were thinking of releasing with this song. otherwise your best bet is downloading it. |
