I believe this song is intended to make the listener believe that by the US waging war against other nations it is only bombing itself ['bomb your country']. That we are a selfish nation that takes advantage of our abundant wealth while still acknowleging poverty in the rest of the world [So make your money, And spread your seed, Better lap up luxuries, But acknowledge need,'] without taking action. In doing so it will come back and smack us in the face and in a sense we will be responsible for our own downfall ['You've made a family, Now kill 'em dead'].Whereas most citizens of the republic wont feel responsible because the media manufactured our consent for us ['Oh it's not me Ma It's what the TV said'] Another thing I believe that is being suggested is that those in government who as our elected leaders decided military action was/is neccesary are only fulfilling their own desires to see the 'end of days' come as a result of their Christian Evangelical theology ['Your final fantasy for your Final days'] in order to facilitate the creation of a new better world ['Oh baby it's the infancy In so many ways ']. ......... Now, as for me, I personally disagree with the lefty non-sense being espoused by the song, but regardless these guys rock hard, and I will be sure to see them on New Years Eve at BAM performing with George Clinton & the P-Funk All Stars. |
