I am just 21 and I have been listening to this song all my life, even though now my favorite artist is Eminem and I mostly listen to country, my favorite songs are still, American Pie and Snow blind friend by Stepenwolf. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet, which is just an opinion of my dad's, is that the levy was dry refers to the draft. He said the good ol' boys were drinking whiskey & rye which was a common drink over seas, singing this'll be the day that I die. I could be wrong but it doesn't matter this song is a master piece and brilliantly beautiful. |
