The part I love the most about his song, is that Dan Wyandt laid down some guest vocals on it, I'd love to know if he collaborated with the lyrics. Anyways, I believe that it's about not caring about this world, and keeping your determination and sights set on the next one, especially with the lines "it is time to overcome this we must look past what is in front of us". |

Pixdogg, that sampling was taken from a movie by the name of Event Horizon, as well as almost all of the other sampling on this AMAZING album. If I remember correctly Liberate te ex Inferis was based off of a mix of Dante's Inferno and Event Horizon. |

As for the Shadow's Fall comment, it's doubtful, seeing as how both records were released in 2002. Also, has anyone else noticed that Lip Gloss And Black and A Song For The Optimists are the exact oppisite of each other? In Lip Gloss And Black he sings about how he has given everything for this person because of how much he loves them, yet in A Song For The Optimists he sings about he he'll do anything 'to get what I (he) want(s), what I (he) need(s)' All the sacrifices that he has made, and that he wants to finally work for himself. Even the 'Live, love, burn, die' part coincides with the 'Desolation, desire, exhale, pass away' part. Just a thought. |
