before i get into the interpretation, i just wanna ask everyone to stop it about the "on my way out or hell" thing... every other person is repeatedly arguing the point. WE GOT IT, IT'S UNCLEAR, move on already... on to the meaning.... i've been trying to crack this song\album since it came out as i'm sure there's a lot hidden in it just like the last album... the vibe i got from Noro is a song about guilt... surprisingly i didn't see anyone else pointing this out. "why doesn't anyone I know sleep? are they all just scared of their dreams? when they lay their heads down at night what are they haunted by?" doesn't that sound like someone who feels guilt and is haunted by nightmares of his actions? "Well, I've tried. God knows that I've tried." clearly referring to redemption. perhaps seeking forgiveness from the victims? or more obviously from god? Noro strongly reminds me of the song Limousine from the last album. in fact, i like to think that the song refers to the driver of the Limousine and that's how i've come to interpret it. please bear with me... "How am I ever going to know peace?" perhaps referring to the internal disturbance of the Limo driver? "How will I ever see the light through the trees?" perhaps the Limo driver wonders if he will ever be released from prison? "I want to kill and eat my young." an eye for an eye. the Limo driver thinks of killing his own child in order to pay for his crime of killing someone else's child. it's a stretch i know... this song is about guilt, i just can't see any references to society, religion, or media in there. do i sound absolutely insane here? |

ok we need to put our brains together and figure this album out. i wish everyone would stop fuckin obsessing over the correct lyrics down to the last words and focus more on the meanings of the song. so far i am getting the following from almost every song: - bed, sleeping - trees, forests - fire, burning - and a whole lot of biblical references how do these all connect? i know the album has a very strong reference to nature (album cover is a giveaway too)... Arter help me out here! |

ok now on to the meaning. i read all the comments you guys have left for this song. I can't remember who said this but someone mentioned that the song is about the Limousine accident and it's from the killer's point of view. YOU ARE DEAD ON! ... that's exactly what the song is about. bear with me. first part, the killer is addressing the judge. he refers to the judge as "mr.hangman" which makes sense. judges sentence people (sometimes they sentence people to be hanged). i believe the killer is saying how he can never forgive his crime and no matter how hard he tries to make up for it he will still have a guilty concience. hence the line "Now even if I lay my head down at night After a day I got perfectly right..." ... get it ? even if he does good to all mankind one day, by the end of the night he'd still feel the guilt. "And you can't blame your mother, She's trying not to see you as her worst mistake" refers to the mother's guilt for not watching her child closely and letting her out of her sight when this accident happened. i'm not gonna type out what every line means cause i'm bored now. but you get the idea. now just listen to the song with this meaning in mind and you'll see it all makes sense. peace out mo fo's ! |

These lyrics are incorrect. I clearly heard him sing: "So pray little Kay, love's God on a good day" in a live show. THAT IS THE CORRECT LINE. just listen to the damn song one more time and you'll find that it sounds perfect. and he DOES sing "I LOVE YOU" after "and i wish that i could tell you right now". I heard him singing it live. stop arguing over it. |

i donno about the whole drowning thing, i agree with the oral sex and everything but about the whole "she was alright cause the sea was so tight she broke away" part, i think that the "sea" is referring to the town where stella lives in and everyone in the town knows her as a whore (as the first verse clearly describes the way people look at her) ... but stella wants to grow out of it and change her life but she can't do it in this town cause everyone knows her , and that's why she breaks away as in leaving the town ... bottom of the ocean she dwells refer to her trying hard to leave the past that she's had in that town behind ... but i mean that's just how i see it , i personally don't agree with the drowning part ... she was my catatonic sex toy ... is a beautiful line ... reminds me of my gf when she used to dress up as cat woman sometimes .... |
