It's about love... well duh. Reminds me of my first love... well I still love her. I feel the same way as you Nukethesun...anytime I think of the past and all of the paths I have crossed I become saddened that I will never see nor hear from most of the people who I've met. But I digress, As to the meaning of the song it's a love song and a remembrance of youth. "A little voice inside my head said, "Don't look back. You can never look back." I thought I knew what love was, What did I know? Those days are gone forever I should just let them go but" Up until that part of the song it can easily be interpreted as a love song, the same clichéd, yet never-tiring story of this guy blindly chasing after a girl. At this point it becomes evident that the singer is looking back and realizes that true love wasn’t really known to him at the time, yet he misses it terribly and can't let go of the memories. We all miss those days when relationships were carefree and always a new and exciting adventure. |
