There are two sides to the moon -- the side in which we see receives sunlight and the other side, the assumed "dark" side we don't see. The moon can be a metaphor for an individual's behavior and mood. The light side meaning the compassionate, accepting, and open-minded side of a person. The dark side meaning the hatred, close-mindedness, and the shadow of what that person's true self really is. and all that is now and all that is gone and all that's to come and everything under the sun is in tune but the sun is eclipsed by the moon Everything in the present is happening. The past has happened but the memories and thoughts remain. Everything that has seen light (compassionate side of a person) is in tune but it is often overshadowed by the dark side of the moon. |

What a wonderful and soothing instrumental. In my opinion, the title and the song go hand in hand. The song is telling it like it is - you can choose to color your perception of the world around you (and including yourself) or choose and have the will power to be open-minded and choose any colour you'd like. Every individual views things subjectively, colored by their own unique perception and interpretation. Being open to the vast amount of colours (metaphorically, everyone's unique colored perception) there are, you have then and suddenly freed yourself from the world around you (and their illusion-like binds and regulations) as well as yourself. |
