It's mostly right, but I think it's: (Corrections are capped) Blessed are he who are speaks the word PRAY FOR THE WEAK AND LEAD THE HERD Dollars signs in the faithful eyes THE ANTI-SAINT, SUNDAY DISQUISE You’re just a faker No miracle maker Holy behavior Wont make you our savior |

| Fingertight – Guilt (Hold Down) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
To me, it almost sounds like someone is crippled in some way (If you could use your hands, what would you use them for) Maybe the person singing got them physically hurt in someway (car accident or something) and he feels guilty for it. After the person is out of the hospital, he/she is forced to have to use a wheelchair because of the injuries (The fact that they don't care, while they stop and stare, while they put you in that dusty, dirty chair. That's the vibe I get, I dunno. I'm just trying to think outside the usual "This song is about LOVE!" box. Not that there's anything wrong with that, Love is very important, and is a very special, yet common subject matter that EVERYONE can relate to. |

All these people bashing smooth criminal amuses me. Mostly because unless you had heard of them when they released "TRUant" you wouldn't have even found out who these guys were without the success of Smooth Criminal. Obviously that song was good ENOUGH for most or all of you to be like "Wow, these guys are pretty damn good. Lemme look into their other stuff" SC was a great song, the drumming in that song is phenomenal (like most of AAF's stuff) and AAF's illustrious singer nailed a song that's NOT all that easy to sing. So enough already, we get it, you like other songs by them more. No reason to bash the song that made them famous. |

| It almost seems to me that he bumped into an old flame, and maybe they tried again, but he realized or they realized things were the same as they were before. | |

| Yeah. I saw a live clip of this song. And before it, Ben said "this song is about all the shit that's bad for us but we do anyway" | |
| Utada Hikaru – Sanctuary ~Opening Version~ Lyrics | 16 years ago |

It could just be that we were unaware of the fact there is an alternate lyrical version. I've listened to the Japanese version as well, and I think it's just as eerily beautiful, moreso actually because it's a different language. So I don't really know what that mean spirited comment about "Lazy English audiences" was all about. Someone is a little vengeful... |

| Blue October – Dirt Room Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Oh, I wanted to add that you should go find "Waste of Space" By Ra for a similar themed song. It's a VERY good tune. Matter of fact, Just go buy their whole "Black Sun" album. You'll be pleased. | |
| Blue October – Dirt Room Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Yeah, usually when a band has a song of this kind've theme, it's meant for a crooked manager or record exec. On a side note, What is it with these bands that used to be a tad girly coming out with some uptempo, horizon expanding songs this month? Red Jumpsuit Apparatus' "You better Pray" is so much different than their old stuff (At least, I think it's a new song) And that is A-ok with me. This song is quite raw for Blue October (From what I've heard of their stuff anyway) Thumb's up, guys! |

When I heard this on the radio, I would have never guessed it was RJA. Now I've never been a huge fan of theirs, but it wasn't like I didn't like them. (Ass shaker was a great song) I was neutral when it came to them. But this, this is a pleasant change up. The vocal harmonies on "....out" on the chorus are insanely impressive. I thought this was some new band that just came out, and as a musician I was wow'ed at how well this song was put together. And I don't even like this southern rock sound. The vocal notes he hits on the beginning and the end are mind blowing. I would have never guessed he had such an impressive range. At the very beginning when he hit that first note, I was like "I'm gonna be pissed if this is Axl and the new Guns & Roses" because I despise that guy and I was diggin the song. Right when he sang on the verse I knew it wasn't. I had to look it up on my phone, and when RJA came up as the search result for "You better pray, we don't seek you out" I was like, there's no way! But it was, and now my mind is blown. Much better than that poppy punk-ish sound. Way to expand your horizons RJA! Kudos! |

| Tracy Chapman – Fast Car Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I usually see love subject matter in most songs, but this one sounds different to me. It's almost like it was meant for her dad who was an alcoholic and her mom left him, so now she wants to take care of him, and them and be someone for them to escape poverty. "You see, my old man's got a problem, Lives with the bottle, that's the way it is He says his body's too old for workin', I say his body's too young to look like his, My mama went off and left him, Wanted more from life than he could give, I said somebody's got to take care of him, So I quit school and that's what I did." |

| Nonpoint – Reward Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
More than likely its about drugs. But I felt like he was comparing love or a relationship to being addicted to a drug. For all the little things that my girlfriend does that drive me up the wall and irritate me, I deal with it because the overall reward is the high she gives me. Hence the head spinning and so on, im dizzy with all the shit we go through, but I wouldn't trade any of it, or her for the world. |

lol cutting. Alot of lyricists use these things called "Metaphors" If you want to relate to a song about cutting go listen to 'Hurt' by Nine Inch Nails. Anything by NIN, really. Passive aggressive a-holes. |
|
| Breaking Benjamin – Dance With The Devil Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I'm not a very morbid person. But I think joint suicide, or murder would fit the eerily moody, yet strangely romantic feel of this song. | |
| Incubus – A Kiss To Send Us Off Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Blaze must not have listened to much S.C.I.E.N.C.E. everything since Make Yourself has been pretty girlie by Incubus. Not to say it's not good, but sometimes I wish they would bring back that Make Yourself, Pardon Me type of feel. Hell, even a "New Skin" feel. Morning View took ALOT of getting used to on my behalf to accept the new Incubus. I didn't like "....Crow....." so much as it was pretty much a Mars Volta wank fest. I do like this CD though. Light Grenades is gonna take some getting used to as well. |

| Tool – Stinkfist Lyrics | 19 years ago |

how do i know? The lines "Somethings kinda sad about the way that things have come to be. Desensitized to everything. What became of subtlety? How can this mean anything to me (the violence and pain in the world) When I really don't feel a thing at all?" there. It's not about fisting. It's just a clever double meaning. |

| Incubus – Dig Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
My friend said that this song makes him want to shoot himself, but he loves it. Apparently he thinks this is a dark song. He said the notes, or key (on the guitar, he's a guitarist) are dark. I am apparently "such a drummer" because I disagree that this song is NOT dark. This song is very happy, and uplifting. The chorus is so powerful, and it's postive. "If I turn into another. Dig me up from under what is covering, the better part of me. Sing this song, Remind me that we'll always have each other. When everything else is gone" It's about friendship, all the way. |
|
| Tool – Stinkfist Lyrics | 19 years ago |

LOL Depth Sun's comment on page 2. As a drummer, this comment made me laugh....lots. It's SO true, thats why. |
|
| Breaking Benjamin – You Fight Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is just so powerful to me. It's so dark and brooding. It has an industrial goth type feel, and the Piano lines are just so menacing. I think this song touches alot of different areas. I'd have to break it down by line by line almost. this songs mood and subject matter reminds me of "Boiler" by Limp Bizkit. Wuite possibly LB's BEST song. Even if you don't like LB, you'll like boiler. this songs subject matter touches on love, being fired upon by someone you love and whom you are "sided" with. Hence the "No time for lies, and empty fights. I'm on your side" It also touches on this relationship having no chance (or at least, a very small chance) of making it "Can we live a life of peace and hapiness? I don't think so" And the urge people seem to have to ALWAYS be together with someone, in a relationship. Like they NEED to be with someone to prove their worth, and to prove they are desirable. Hence the "Everyone is waiting here for everyone. Leave me alone" I can go on, but this is long enough.....sheesh. |

| 10 Years – Waking Up Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
to RIP: In all honesty, I LOVE 10 Years but they aren't very original either. Sure they may be a little more 'artsy' than your Breaking Benjamins or your ::shudders:: My Chemical Romance's but truth be told, they are pretty generic too. It took me alot of listening of this CD to hear the differences between the songs. Now, this is one of my favorite bands as generic as they are. The lines: "Are you there? Can you hear me?" Seem sarcastic to me. |

| 10 Years – The Autumn Effect Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Yes, he sounds similar to Maynard. But anyone that says he sounds exactly like him, is pretty uneducated and probably hasn't heard much Tool/APC. Not to say you are stupid or anything, it's just that there's only slight overtones of APC/Tool's enigmatic frontman. Maynard has a killer range from "growling" if you would, however, Jesse has a MUCH higher range. Oh, and for the longest time, I thought this song was about a girl (named Autumn) Purposely giving another (a guy named Jacob) Aids. 'RIDICULOUS!' you may say, but, the lyrics can definitely match that. |

| Deftones – Pink Cellphone Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
You all can watch your "Saw" Movies, and your "Hostel's" oh and the gory intros to CSI, or perhaps niptuck or maybe offensive/vulgar movies like "Borat" (which was effin hillarious) and find it ingenius. But someone talks vulgar on a deftones album and you guys throw hissyfits. WTF!? Its apparent there is two dynamics here. Also, don't say it sounds different than other songs. Swap the talking out with vocals and this could be another "Rx Queen" or another "Deathblow" I found this track randomly hillarious. Effin pussies. Christ. |

| Dredg – Zebraskin Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It could mean alot of different things. Depending on the mood, and mindset of the listener, it could kind've be a feel good song. A song of celebration. "A couple of drinks, I sway, I sway, I sway." kind've in that "tripping billies" by Dave Matthews band way. then you may want to consider what the meaning of the title is..."ZebraSkin" it could be a brand of hard liquor, who knows. But to me, This song makes me feel like he took a chance with one of his best friends, romantically, and it failed, thus making him fear he lost his best friend. So now he is having a couple of drinks to reflect on his error. It doesn't say he gets hammered, he only says "a couple of drinks". however, he says he hasn't felt this way since yesterday, insinuating he's an alcoholic. I think he loses his best friend, but finds a replacement at the end: "i may have found my best friend" The replacement being alcohol. I do think he began an intimate relationship with his best friend though, and it failed. |

| Limp Bizkit – Boiler Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Thanks for the backup. I should've been more clear on the song "Hurt" I meant that NiN was quoted in saying that after Johnny covered "hurt" it wasn't NiN's song anymore it was his. so that's why i said NiN's cover rather than the other way around. | |
| Evanescence – Tourniquet Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It would be cool if this song was deeper than whats on the surface. Though it's Evanescence and Amy Lee is more direct than that in her writing. I thought it'd be cool if it was about a person who left the love of her life hoping the grass was greener on the other side and she found out she just ended up "bleeding" more without them. So that person is begging the one she left for forgiveness and wonders if he still remembers her. |

NinPunk. Your Opinion is only Biased because you like Nine Inch Nails. We all know LB and NIN don't care for each other much. However, don't you DARE come in here and talk a whole lot of mess. "You think you are hardcore" Dude, I'm probably more hardcore than YOU are and I LOVE LB it's called not jumping on the band wagon. You ever heard of Losa? Lamb of God? Killswitch Engage? Bullet for my Valentine? Motograter?. I can go on. Don't tell me I THINK i'm hardcore just because I like LB. Go cut yourself while listening to NIN's Johnny Cash cover. I hear many things in this song, He starts off singing in a normal pitch, but in the second verse he starts to rais his voice a little more and go back to chill before going back to angry. This character in the song is Obviously slowly starting to go crazy. We all know it's a break up song but it's also rather 'Pro-Suicide-ish' "No more eating, no sleeping, no living" the character eventually offs himself judging by the music and Fred's voice right after the "WHY!?" part, they go from screams to faint whipers.... |

| Dredg – Ode to the Sun Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I agree with atom. At first listen i thought it could be a bout a dying relationship....but upon another listen after reading Atom's post i'll have to agree with him. Which actually has a deeper meaning to me that way. In the beginning of the song you can hear a car starting and driving off, so just another sign that furthers his point. | |

A friend of mine thought it was about someone forcing oral sex......... no comment on that one. I honestly don't really know what it's about. but alot of your opinions are pretty applicable |

| A Perfect Circle – The Outsider Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
'Slickvic' seems to think he is alot more canny than the rest of us. Dude, every reply i've read of yours on this site starts off with you talking down to the other members who have already posted. Who are you? fuckin God? you need to keep your mouth shut and respect everyones opinions. Fuckin asshole. Oh, and I do believe this song is about suicide. Someone who is an attention whore It's proven that people who are truly suicidal won't mention they want to kill themselves (not in a direct way anyhow) they just kinda do it which is why it's often suprising when someone close to you or know DOES commit suicide. This person has obviously mentioned that they want to kill themselves hence making them nothing but an Attention Whore who won't really do it. |

| A Perfect Circle – The Package Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I always thought it was about Greed and trickery | |
| A Perfect Circle – The Hollow Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| it's about a prostitute. | |
| A Perfect Circle – Pet Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Maynard was quoted in an interview for a metal magazine. the interviewer said something along the lines of "Theres not alot of political issues talked about on 'Thirteenth Step' why the change" or something like that, but maynard said "I disagree, I believe 'Pet' is very political" Before i even read that interview i racked my brain trying to figure out the metaphors and everything, and after thinking and thinking i came to the hypothesis that it was about the war in Iraq. Look at it this way, we have a 'dominant force' and a 'submissive' force in this song, the speaker being the aggressor and the spoken to being the Submitter. it could be about bush tellin america (would make alotta sense, since America is metaphorically considered his 'son') or it could be Our army and president speaking towards the Iraqi's. the "Swingin to the rhythm of the New World Order" part could refer to the belief that we are invading Iraq....but we, (and myself) won't get into that. Make sense? |

| A Perfect Circle – 3 Libras Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I really feel this song is about someone admiring another from a distance, yet this person does not see that he bleeds for her like he does, even though he has made it obvious. | |
| Dave Matthews Band – Halloween Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Halloween is a brutal kick ass song. I am a fan of hard rock as well as DMB. my spectrum is wide for music. My older brother (a pansy as well i might add) always skipped this song, said it "scared him" and i agree it's definitely a "What the?" type DMB song cause they don't normally write music like that. But this is a rockin tune and very powerful. I mean the man is bleeding his soul on this song and you all had the pleasure to hear it. | |
| Dave Matthews Band – The Dreaming Tree Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This is one of my favorite DMB songs. This song gives me chills (it seems alot of their music does that to me) I read it was about Steffan's son, who died shortly after birth (like someone mentioned earlier) But at the same time i think it's about dreams dying and fading The second part of the song is about a model or actress who is beautiful and she loses all her fame (that's what the lyrics imply anyway) and yes ben afleck any gwyneth paltrow did insist on this song being on the album and i'm glad they did. | |
| Dave Matthews Band – The Stone Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| also- i love the Warehouse 5 Volume 2 version of this song. The way he sings it. | |
| Dave Matthews Band – The Stone Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Actually, I don't really know what this tune is about. all i know is that it gives me goosebumps when i hear it. When i had the 'creeping suspicion' that an X of mine was cheating on me (which she was) this song almost brought tears to my eyes whether it be about a drifting lover or not. My older brother actually told me he thought this song was about Moses (Parting the red sea moses) after he had killed that slave worker. this was his own thoughts on the song, not something he read. | |
