I think Pointless has a point. I believe some songs try and capture the essence of a feeling. I'm Aries, at this moment I am "friends" with a Libra. By friends I mean I would give anything just to fall asleep next to her. We click, finish sentences, flirt, but mostly just talk. But, as soon as the relationship tries tries to naturally progress, it's just a horrible train wreck. We've somehow managed to keep it together by I think mostly using denial. And, I might be wrong, I think that we might feel the same about eachother, but as astrology has shown, we are direct opposition, too much alike and having almost no strengths to complement each others emotional weaknesses. I'm not a firm believer in astrology, and I love the whole Romeo and Juliet feel of the situation, but this is the only way I can explain how 2 people who are so alike and in love just can't work out. I’ve started realising that giving compliments and having expectations about her is a fruitless excercise, we are just not compatible as lovers... I humbly understand what the song's trying to say and I think Maynard has come to the same exact conclusion as I have. Even though I've heard this song before, it was a freaking frightening experience having it playing when I got home from visiting her right now! |

| Hmmm Absolute_Zero, it does make sense, well sort of. Acid makes you want to touch and get touched, and feel and explore both physically and mentally. For most of the rest of the world, America is seen as the dumb-ass school jock of the world, and since they re-elected Bush (ok in honesty, I didn’t like Kerry but then again I’m not an American). I lost all faith in Americans and I was convinced America’s populated by Idiots, till I heard this song… Green Day rocks! and it gives us a bit of perspective because the rest of the world, the internet, any non-American news agencies, EVERYTHING, except America, portray a different (subtly anti-Bush) picture that Americans aren’t seeing. For everyone bitching about how crap the song is, step out of your little box and realise that you are brainwashed and noone actually likes (you) America! For a band to change my (and probably a lot of other ppl’s) perspective is a pretty awesome feat and can only be done by an awesome band! |

| I wonder if the "30 seconds" shouldn't be 32nds. That would be a descending sequence of 2 to the power n... And it fits in nicely with the "I'm teaching your brightest" Computers and most things work on a binary system... Probably wrong but hey :) | |
