I always thought it's about someone who thought they had the perfect lover but this person turned out to be just terrible or something. It's hard to interperet - perhaps its a number of things at the same time. Yeah probably closer to CousinScampi's thoughts |

I believe this song has a very simple concept. Simply "one love", theres nothing else to it. And I think thats completely beautiful, and Horace Andy's performance is just breathtaking to me. What do others think? |

true, but you gotta expect. It's not as if she's the only one trying to sound hardcore, compared to all the shit that's out there, she still stands out....moreover - she makes all her own beats, respect to that |

whoa. okay I'm jumping on the bandwagon and say that I love peaches. Any of you peaches-haters, you go and take simple electro-clash and make it sound like peaches. It's only because you've got vile taste in music and because you're jealous of how much sex she gets. She's completely addictive. |

Peaches loves to sing about sex openly - she is proud and open about her sexuality. I think it's a lot to do with her mentality as a electro-clash/pop female star that if you're going to give a certain image about yourself, than at least justify it with your music and she does do that brilliantly. Her attitude is fun - not to mention she's completely talented. |

I believe this to be one of Numan's best in his later career. His voice is chilling amongst the almost supernatural atmospheres in the music. I haven't really got an interperation but sonically, it's very scary. It could half be religion, half revenge. The meaning to me is in the way you feel when you hear it. |

I do love the Nine Inch Nails cover which appears on "Things Falling Apart". Actually, I believe Gary and NIN created the cover together, in relation to the music, but Im not completely sure. Still, a lovely song. I'm not sure about xl5ron's interperation, in fact, Im not sure about the meaning at all, I never really looked into it and I'm afraid that if I tried, I'd get it wrong anyway. |

| Līve – Operation Spirit (The Tyranny of Tradition) Lyrics

I believe the song states the author's view on faith and religion, and not only those, but also culture and tradition. I also feel he believes only in himself and his heart and he does not need the strength of Jesus (being a metaphor for religion itself) to guide him through life. "but what a man was two thousand years ago, means nothing at all to me today" to me is a very powerful line, telling his zero interest in Jesus' endeavours and that now humanity has its own wars and battles - different to those in the time of Jesus. |

I'm sorry but I don't believe the song means any of those things. It feels to me it's the author's love of nature and a recognition that nature is everywhere, and it's inside us, we are made of it, regardless of what we try to do to ourselves. "all over you, all over me, the sun the fields the sky" - to me this has beautiful reference to the power of nature , and how simple air can be the only thing that maintains our lives. |

I didn't read all of interperations. I won't make my own because it will just add to the clutter. I find the idea of the song being about a friend being pregnant ridiculous, but thats just me. Also, I do believe the remix by Les Rhythmes Digitales is very sexy. The main reason why most don't like it is because theyre anti-electronica. I think LRD did a wonderful job. Aside of all the junk, Pure Morning is a lovely song in the end. |

| Placebo – Without You I'm Nothing Lyrics

Although the lyrics are genuinly beautiful, I feel much more with the way that Brian Molko expresses it on the album. His voice blends almost divinely into the music. I find the first lead up to the chorus absolutely breathtaking. It feels like an emotional climax in how the guitar chords its way into "without you I'm nothing". I do not know the meaning of the lyrics accurately enough to express my views. I think the words "without you I'm nothing" are very saddening, at the same time sweet, humble and completely about love - regardless of what the love is towards. |

I believe that the message is essentially a positive one. To make an initial choice leads to further choices that can change the course of one's life. He states the negatives in chasing money and how it can drain the life out of you so much that all you become is routine. To realise this, it will allow you to make the choice to "run away" from it. |

I know it's silly but I get the feeling it could be about a one night stand as I refer to "an ambiguous presence, an unknown presence". I think the music's from some old french music. It's quite an entertaining song and very short. It could also be about an alien abduction, who knows. It's funny how romantic teh crude lyrics sound in french |

I agree Vrai. Brian says that the album Black Market Music was much more mature and focused on the bigger picture, rather than personal angst. He also says it's a very positive album and his thoughts within it are much more mature and deal with not only his own life, but the lives of other people, both locally and universally. |

I see the "sea" as the core of nature, Perhaps the song means to ask yourself and your own intution/heart what to do next, instead of looking elsewhere. That your own heart will be most accurate. He stresses "these bonds are shackle free", I feel it means that nature will always win you over in the end. Just a thought, what do others think? |

| Craig Armstrong – This Love (feat. Liz Frazer) Lyrics
| 21 years ago

I believe the song is about a relationship that technically cannot be called a relationship. A love that is not just a boyfriend/girlfriend/lover but something truly deeper than that.
"Doesn't have to feel love
Doesn't care to be love
It doesn't mean a thing "
It seems the lyrics play with the idea that this relationship is not "love" in its traditional sense, and that it is an ambiguous, but strong relationship. |

| The Cure – Pictures of You Lyrics

I believe the "picture" represents a beautiful memory that one, in desperation, holds on to forever. Robert Smith's words probably are lies, but only because he probably wants the listener to gather theyre own feelings. Ratzody's description about her husband dying was a real tearjerker and clearly defines how absolutely powerful the song is, and can so be applied to the feeling of loss and memory. |

I'd like to comment thank you. I hear this song and I hear a beautiful, uplifting and inspiring quality. My first thought is that the song deals with feelings of depression and hopelessness and it tells you directly, almost aggressively that life is, well, alive so why feel like death when you could discover the world, even if you encounter sorrows more often then happiness. |

| The Cure – 10:15 Saturday Night Lyrics

It sounds as if Robert Smith is talking of a rogue lover he adores but knows she doesn't love him as he lives her, and he waits for her patiently to arrive home
"Where she's been
And I'm crying for yesterday "
. It could also be as simple as a teenager party song but what sort of teenage song calls for such sorrowful and passionate vocals?? |

| Gary Numan – Cars Lyrics

|
I get the feeling the song is about anti-depressant drugs.
"Here in my car I
can only receive
I can listen to you
It keeps me stable for days "
Gary Numan suffers from a form of Autism called Asperger's Disorder. A car could represent isolation and distance, being in a metaphysical cocoon inside the world, yet completely detached from it. |

there seems to be so much confusion about the meaning of these lyrics. Paperguy probably is the closest to correct, I believe. Bjork does sing about sex many times. She believes in singing about nature, and sex is part of it. But really, who knows - only Bjork. |

she does say "your doors are shut" . The lyrics are printed on the Homogenic inlay. I agree with Freespirtiedartist on the song's meaning. It is a timeless and beautiful song. The remixes are also wonderful. I believe those lyrics are to be taken seriously. Having said that, I also believe Bjork allows for open interperation of her music, as long as she knows she has touched someone and expressed herself. The video is an amazing and relevent work by Chris Cunningham, a regular director in Bjork's videos. Bjork is truly supernatural. |

I believe the track talks about a relationship that is so healthy that a compromise is given voluntarily because the person makes you feel like yourself and the line "lets unite, we shouldnt fight" seems as though she feels there is always room for compromise, or that love forces it because hostility can't be an option. |

I believe the song's about a drug dealer in the neighbourhood. I adore Horace Andy as a reggae singer. There is an interesting delay sequence used on the drums at the beginning and throughout the track that sounds superb combined with Horace's vocals. He also sang "One Love" from Blue Lines, which is also a simple yet effective track. Massive Attack have the power to produce very simple tracks that always pulls the right strings. |
