I never really listened to this song properly until the other day as I wasn't that fond of TCOLAD. I tried to understand the meaning of the song and thought perhaps it was about them losing faith in their 'God' and this has just confirmed it for me. Now knowing what it's about it's definatly one of my favourite songs, lyric-wise, on the album. |

I see this song as a reflection of Joel and Benji's lives' - Starting out as a kind of fairy-tale type sound, and then turning into some kind of hard, hellish sound, that being after their father left them to fend for themselves. And since a lot of their other songs are about this then it just makes sense that this song is probably about that as well. It's one of my favourites, and it's best played loud or even better - LIVE! :D |
