Red Hot Chili Peppers – Freaky Styley Lyrics 19 years ago
when in the studio doing the album of the same name the peppers were being produced by George Clinton. Flea and the drummer had come up with a funk instrumental which was going to be placed mid album to lead into another track. Clinton thought it too good for this purpose so increased the production and started chanting 'fuck em, just to see the look on their face' over the track which gave birth to the lyrics. The peppers them selves came up with the rest as 'freaky styley' was the bands word for anything they liked whilst they had been touring which also explains the albums title. Thats it, no hidden meaning

Diceman – Idiot Enemy Lyrics 19 years ago
An anthem to the western world, a topic that diceman often bring into their songs. The idiot enemy are the leaders of the western powers, this is confirmed in verse 2 when we are told that the enemy is within. Big george bush reference in verse 1 'all hail to the theif' was chanted during Bush's acceptance speech after he cheated his way into the white house in 2000 after he had used his family owned TV network to brain wash voters into voting for a man who is most def an idiot (controlling destiny through the screens on your TV). Second verse tells us all (the children of conspiracy) to ignore the propoganda on our computers and TV's and use our intelligence to make our own minds up. The chorus refers to the ineviatable, but will you let them get YOU

Stereophonics – Local Boy In The Photograph Lyrics 19 years ago
What the hells Tomasz been taking! very personal song about how the start of summer will always remind him of the suicide and how it brought the community together. Very bitter sweet its been downhill since then, shame good of been a great band.

Stereophonics – A Thousand Trees Lyrics 19 years ago
The 'phonics lost the truth and honesty in their songs which is why they are almost a completely different group now. Writing songs about las vegas and forgetting their roots, thinking that their superstars when their simply 3lads from the valleys. This whole album is a really good debut full of personal and honest tracks. Its a shame because i thought they would go on to be great buts its been downhill ever since.

The Beatles – Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) Lyrics 19 years ago
I had heard it was in response to johns experience with a lesbian. maybe he was 'had' in the fooled sense. Not 100% but im sure he wrote a track in this era about such an experience. Any thoughts???

The Verve – Bittersweet Symphony Lyrics 19 years ago
Creative Zen touch? what the fuck? have you ever played any track, never mind strings backwards? Hidden message my arse!
I heard it was a Stones B side and jagger and co demanded the royalties as the verve didnt get clearance on the sample, so effectively they didnt earn a penny from probably their best and certainly biggest selling track. Slave to money and you die, EH!

The Smiths – There Is a Light That Never Goes Out Lyrics 19 years ago
The ultimate 'Angst love song' like a collaboration between marylin manson and Chris martin. Fans of this should check out 'Been thinking about you' by Radiohead on Pablo Honey

Ian Brown – Corpses In Their Mouths Lyrics 19 years ago
One of the most under rated tracks of the whole stone roses/ ian brown era. Im presuming its about the fake Wannabes and IT girl hangers on that he comes accross in the music industry, not sure about the dead sea scrolls bit ???

Ian Brown – Kiss Ya Lips [No I.D.] Lyrics 19 years ago
A serious dig at the now un-employed Mr Blunkett. I dont think Ian Brown approves of Id cards, do you! Looks like trouser snake Blunkett will soon only be a number as well, i think they call that irony.

Ian Brown – F.E.A.R. Lyrics 19 years ago
'Poetic Analgram' eh. Sounds like a porno title. Seriously though Ian Brown has matured into prob the best lyricist of the past 10 years. Grittier than Thom Yorke but equally as good. For everything a reason! everyone should relate to that

The Stone Roses – Elephant Stone Lyrics 19 years ago
Anybody heard the Mint Royal version, completeley different track should be included on every chill out CD. I thought an Elephant Stone meant a massive stash of drugs or something to do with South American folk law? Sounds like a Heroine inspired track to me, not sure if messrs Brown and Squire were par takers of the old brown though? always reminds me of coming down of a pill though

John Lennon – Instant Karma! (We All Shine On) Lyrics 19 years ago

John Lennon – Imagine Lyrics 19 years ago
I think the position that john lennon found himself in would have been impossible for most white middle class scousers to deal with. He tried to make a difference and use his fame ina positive way, without coming across as fake and contrived (Bono please take note).I often wondered how much of a negative influence old Yoko was but no one can deny that this man and this song will be iconic for as long as people listen to music.

The Flaming Lips – Do You Realize?? Lyrics 19 years ago
Lyrically one of my favourite songs. And the world spinning round lyric is prob my favourite line in any song, mainly because there is nothing to analyse, its just a very profound and true statement.
Basically we are all insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but that doesnt stop us all being amazing and important whilst were here. But dont worry about money and spend your time OVER analysing song lyrics because we are all going to die, so just enjoy yourselves. No hidden meanings just the truth. (saw Beck covering live once which was pretty special)

Athlete – Vehicles & Animals Lyrics 19 years ago

Kasabian – Club Foot Lyrics 19 years ago
These soppy ' Just seventeen' style comments are getting right on my tits. Why dont you all piss off, you only like kasabian because youve seen them on CD UK. This sites about the lyrics, go analyse Britney!
I beleive that Serge, the jesus looking guitarist writes the lyrics and their pretty cynical and political with drug referances thrown in for good measure. Anybody know the specific meaning behind this one??

The Beatles – I Am the Walrus Lyrics 19 years ago
Well said Prog Rocker(?), John Lennon was taking the piss out of everyone on this site who has even attempted to analyse this track. Hard to write Bull Shit songs though!

The Beatles – Across the Universe Lyrics 19 years ago
John Lennon is quoted as saying that this is one of the best songs he wrote, which eliminates the George theory. Spike Miligan used it on a charity record, i think for the WWF and animal noices were added, it was later reproduced by George Martin for let it be. The extended OM is the noise the universe makes whilst in meditation and the Jai Guru refers to a spiritual teacher named Daiva (i think) read revolution in the head for more info. Another tip when deciding which of John or Paul wrote a song. Paul will often write in the third person ie Elanor Rigby and john adopts himself as the theme of the song ie I AM the walrus.
