This is such a brilliant song....I think this song is one that led to the new style of writing that Blink used for their music. It shows the range of what they could do...it showed us that they weren't just a band out to sing about silly shit.... I love this song so friggin much and its helped me through some of the worst times of my life!!! Losing someone that you really care about sucks big time and I think that Tom probably wrote it just after a breakup!!! Man, is Blink not the going to be the new generations Beatles or what???? u nailed this right on the head sixstring...... i think in a manner "the twisting of the vine go ascend with ivy climbing" is in regards to the crucification of Jesus and his ascending to heaven. "My soul brings tears to angelic eyes" is in retrospect to religion as anyone who is religious has faith in whatever they believe in be it Christ, God, Buddha on and on. The mother crying is Mary. All in all this is a brilliant song with breathtaking lyrics and an energy that captivates you....it reaches deep and just pulls something right out of you. |
