becki - first and foremost, it is a beautiful song. I'm horrible at song interpretations, so I'll just tell you what it means to me. "Though things like this..make me sick, in a case like this, i'll get away with it" Earlier he mentions he does not want to be tied to anyone's string, but at the same time whe he's asleep, he lets his guard down and embraces the support and attachment that comes with being with someone. He's probably seen the drama and pressures that comes with relationships from his friends and its sickening. But in a case like this, I guess his own situation, it's not so bad after all. To me, it just sounds as if he wants to be independent and strong, but there are things associated with being in a relationship that he desires and wants even if it conflicts with his views. |
