| U2 – Invisible (RED) Lyrics

I see this as how a person (a person that wants to be compassionate) sees someone less fortunate perhaps a homeless person. In the chorus the less fortunate person maybe in the conscience of the observer says that they're not Invisible. The observer speaks of them as "them" and in the end realizes "they" are us.
I think of Matthew 25:35: For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in
This song makes me think (right or wrong) and feel. And I love U2 for this. |

Is it possible this song is actually a conversation between two people? The mood, even point-of-view, seems to change with each succeeding stanza. They can't act out their emotions in life, so they communicate through song instead. |

I always thought "another you so I could love you more" meant she was essentially cheating on him with another guy that she thought was a lot like him. And this was somewhat of a lame excuse she gave him for doing it. |

If this song is really about Edge's divorce, can you imagine the heartfelt conversations he had with Bono concerning his ordeal? They had to have exchanged quite a few words for Bono to have come up with such a masterpiece of lyrics as this song. |

A trip to meet someone... What a dreamy sequence they've concocted here. I lived in Spain back in the 90's and I can recall redeye bus/train trips to see my then girlfriend.
Tomorrow could not come any quicker! Come morning you're in another town and she's waiting for you at the station. You pick her up and hug her - she "loses gravity". |

On the album it's the perfect lead into My Favourite Game.
I wonder if Marvel Hill is an actual place or a safe place tucked back into the mind of the author of the song...? |

The reflection and redemption aspects of this song really play on your conscience. Of course the music and lyrics just complement each other perfectly. |

Truly amazing tune! It has this very 80's pop sound to it that's really catchy.
And the lyrics... Makes me think of a past relationship I had years ago. It's reminiscing but with a hopeful glint through the music that takes you back. |

So, we have a consensus...? It's "Sun Eyed Girl" then.
I thought he was saying Sinner Girl.
Yeah, these are some dark lyrics for sure. Surreal no doubt, but drawn from what? How do you explain to someone in your car listening to this tune all happy-go-lucky that it's about killing someone and putting her out of her misery? |

| Duran Duran – Electric Barbarella Lyrics

This song comes off a little perverse, but in a fun way! Having sex with something like a blowup doll that perhaps looks like Jane Fonda's character Barbarella in the movie by the same name...
Also, didn't the name Duran Duran come from the movie Barbarella? |

It sounds like Bono is saying that as a European they have no compass, maps, religion - no direction. Perhaps he's speaking en masse about the problems he (being European) has with Europe.
Lacking in racial diversity he sees the blue seal of the European Union as the internationally recognised view of a racially white Europe - "a bluer kind of white". |
