Um, why does Ashlee's voice sound 100% different in this song than it does in others? I don't like any of Ashlee's music, and this song is no exception. This song is composed of bad lyrics, and bad vocals. However, I kind of feel bad for Ashlee because of the SNL incident and when she got booed. I mean, she's bad, but she certainly isn't the only artist out there who's lacking in talent. And also, I think her sister's reputation had a more negative effect on the public's opinion of her than a positive one. I mean, when my friends first heard about her, they were like "WTF, Jessica Simpson's sister has a music career? That's so stupid".
To sum up, I personally do not like Ashlee's music, but I don't think she deserves all the flak she's getting, as there are worse artists out there.

I think this song is about getting into a relationship and realizing that you won't always get your way. As it says, lovers are "born to suffer", meaning they'll make sacrifices for the one they love in order to make them happy. |

To me this is a song about a woman looking at the life of a 15 year old (her child?) and wishing she could be young and innocent again. The woman feels she has seen too much of the world and wishes she could escape into naivety. |
