Well, actually I was at a CAKE show and he pretty much said flat out that he wrote this song when he was waiting for a bus at a bus stop, then griped about public transportation in California, and said he was pretty surprised they even included it in the CD, so yeah, read into it all you want but it really is that simple. |

I love this song, I can completely relate to it. The song is about a crush he runs into in the street. They both like each other, but neither one will open themselves up. He could turn around and say something, but instead he keeps walking, only to completely kick himself for it later.
Or maybe that's just what I end up doing. sigh, so true. |

This song is so much more emotional than the original by Bread (which btw is still a good song). The life of the Guitar man is music, music is is entire reason for existence. Even when the sun is setting on his career all he wants to do is keep moving and play for the next group of people. |

This song I feel like it was written on the road, and woman he's refering to is a young travelling woman, who's also very hot (but no class). Another guy who comes in drunk, and is obviously full of crap and on some drunkin rant and stars talking to her, politely listening for a while. After she finds out who they are (CAKE, on tour) she starts hitting on one of them, flirting, the like. But watch out...she ain't no good..and just wants them for money. (use him and lose him like Immortal113 said.) |
