I like this song, but it makes me kinda depressed. To me it is two stories intertwined, one good one evil. Deep down everybody is either good or bad, those who are good, do good things throughtout life, building them a stairway to heavan, those who bad, commit sins throughout thier life, creating a hole into hell. It is about making the right decision, and staying true to yourself. |

I love this song, it's very raw. I think it is about life and Death. The name itself 'Ocean Breathes Salty' in a nutshell means life's a bitch. Enjoy what you can, because once your dead there is no more. The line... "And maybe we’ll get lucky and we’ll both live again. Well I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know. Don’t think so." is probably my favorite in the song, it really makes you ponder what comes after death.
"You missed when time and life shook hands and said goodbye. When the earth folded in on itself. And said “Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.” Is great too. It is like at the time you are dieing, and in your final thoughts the world is saying, I hope there is more out there for you, but it still stays raw and true and says "I wouldn't hold my breath" Fucking brilliant song! |
