I agree with jukebox and I Lie Here Charmed. Defnintely references to drug addictions. May I add that the relationship between the narrartor and whoever the pronouns are referencing to did not end well. They may have both turned to drugs or alcohol but she is trying to change her ways (I could follow you and search the rubble Or stay right here and save myself some trouble Or try to keep myself from seeing double) Anyway you take it, its an amazing song that depicts how any kid of addiction controls your life and actions. All you care about is 'making a killing' or getting your next fix. |

I see eating disorders written all over this song. I see insecurity. Paper bag- like a barf bag, maybe symbolizing bulemia. Starving works- annorexia. Sweet fix- she uses her dreams as a distraction for food Shaky hands- i know when I don't eat, I get shaky and light headed (also refers to dreams) He said it's all in your head and I said so's everything but he didn't get it- when you suffer from an eating disorder, you don't see your body. You see an altered image your mind creates. If you haven't experienced it you don't know what its like you couldn't ge tit. |

I think it's about him, how he's usually in control but in this relationship whether it be with a friend, girl, or what have you; he's out of control. The more he gets into it, the less he can do about it. He's starting to talk about things he's never done before and he doesn't really know what he's doing. It's very hush hush (riding low, riding low, riding faster) because maybe the other person wants it that way. Whatever it means, fantastic beat. |

"I can hate your girl, I can tell you she's real pretty" Maybe, she just broke up or is on the verge of splitting and hates herself because she's not able to return the care he gives her. 'You'll never see my eyes" He may love her eyes, but she doesn't want to show them to him because she hates that he loves her, "I cannot fall inlove.. I'll never fall inlove.." She's jaded and telling this guy Look, I can't love you back you're waisting your time. As for all the dance illusions, maybe they met dancing? Just a thought. | |

First time I heard it I thought maybe she's taller than him, or smarter, or there's something better about her that he just can't get over even though she's got this fire, this passion that he wants. I agree, the begining of this song is amazing. It holds you insuspense and it's just beautiful. "Is it stormy inside of your veins?" Are you unsettled by yourself? Maybe guilt running through out him? So simple so creative so emotional probably one of my favorite lilnes in any given song. |

| This song is so soft, and beautiful. I can't believe no one has commented on it. It sort of sounds like a relationship that ends peacefully, but that the girl is going off to get into trouble 'outside the reasons hide be carefull what you say' maybe she's very out spoken. It's not a very good interpertation for such a lovely song. | |

| One of my swim coaches told me she heard a girl say 'When's Elliot Smith playing his next concert' because they heard him on the OC. It made me sick. He had such a tragic life, and ended it himself -or that's what they believe. And to hear people with such disrespect for the music and the beauty of it's depth really saddens me. I think that it's him and another girl who is a friend but he wants more of her. They have a close relationship, but he seems to want more while she's pursing other guys. 'neither of us are alone' This line might be that he doesn't feel so alone when he's with her, and she doesn't feel alone because she's always got other boys. |
