Mmmm, I love this song. I did not know the the term Pagan Poetry had been used else where, I'll try not to think of it that way and pretend its existence is rooted from this song. I think intense emotions are simply lovely, which is why I enjoy this song, because that's what it seems to be about. I love being overwhelmed with emotion, because what would the point of existence be if one did not over indulge emotionally. ..... Deja vous. |

Have you ever read the books Beowulf or Grendel? That's what I always think of. I know its strange, by old teacher said the two books always reminded him of Hey Jude, which is nothing like hyper-ballad. Anyway, Because of these books I interpret the song as a searching for meaning. In Grendel, the monster was obsessively participating in ritualistic attacks on the mead hall. His attacks were prompted by his disgust with mankind, and although they were the result of his conciseness of the futility of man, they were an act too similar to bring him satisfaction. By the end of the book, at his death, he was still blind to this and it brought him to a sad state of ethical nihilism. I know this is a really odd. But that's what it reminds me of, loosing consciousness of existence as a result of participation in ritualistic activity. |

I adore this song. It is so beautiful. It is appropriate, I find, to listen to when stressed out with the over emotional. It reminds me of how silly things can be, and rather than to distress over them to enjoy their existence. And Mr. Crabby Pants with the research (electricdylan), music is an art, hence its open for interpretation. |

| This clearly an interpretive piece. I don't think it is nice to criticize others for interpreting differently. I feel bad for those who love Lennon though. I'm sorry. I'm a huge Beatles fan, I love their work, and everything t stood for musically, culturally, philosophically, et cetera... But it cannot be denied, as much as Lennon may have been a visionary, he was also a pompous ass. Seriously, look into it. | |

| Oh no. I've never even heard this song, but through randomness the existence of this cover came to me. I suspect it is complete garbage and am too scared to download it. It is my personal opinion that lame people should probably just accept it and not drag down others (or beautiful songs) with them. | |
