First off, I am not convinced the lyrics posted above are either correct (or what she actually "sings" in this song). Second, this song is hardly about her still being the same person. She probably means in the physical sense (minus the platic work done of course) that she is literally the same person, but this song is basically about how all her stupid fans buying her shit have given her a glamorous livestyle. I am suprised there isn't a section where she talks about the high quality blow she is able to afford in her glamorous lifestyle on account of her selling a billion records full of gibberish and horrible "english" to a 13 year olds. |

it fits with garden state so well, cuz i see it as like a mid-mid-life crisis. what us mid 20somethings go through, when we are out of school, dont want to go back home, wonder if we made a few different choices, stay in certain relationships we'd be happier now. i dont know if thats what he was going for, but its my unofficial mid-mid life crisis song and i totally agree on the indie music thing. i feel like i have just discovered music for the first time. i dont want to get snotty about it though, if a good indie song makes it next to papa roach i will still like it, and take solice in knowing ive liked the song 2 years before this popsters even heard of it. |
