In the title.. "A line allows progress, a circle does not" i think the "line" hes talking about is when u do a line of cocaine. so he is saying that cocaine allows progress cuz he is a drug user. and the circle could be that a circle just keeps going round and round without ever stopping.. its depressing cuz nothing ever changes in a circle but in a line .. it can never stop.. u can always continue a line.. a line of coke.. that is.. i dunno if that made sense but in my head it did |

Yea i saw the conan show too.. and i also saw them live at the nintendo fusion tour at roseland.. and at roseland they sounded great.. but on conan.. he sounded out of breath out of tune.. i think that his voice is just all fucked up because either a) hes on a massive amount of drugs and/or alcohol or b) his voice sucks cuz they have been touring and performing like nonstop.. thats also wut happened to hoobastank on the mtv awards.. THEY SUCKEDD but no one understood that they just came off a tour i dunno.. MCR still rox my sox and ill be seeing them at the taste of chaos tour.. |

Sure this song may sound happy buti think..well this is what i think.. Blue is usually another word reffering to sad, or depressed,etc.. So i think conor is saying unless everything around him is depressing he cant feel better.. which in a way is ironic. Becuase in order to get undepressed you have to be happy.. but peopple who suffer from depression like me, need to have things depress them. i dont no if that made sense but when he talks bout the part with the doctor.. the only way he would get better is with a blue bag a.ka" bad news about himself or someone he cares about. He thrives on being " blue".. he is a depressed soul.. maybe im completely wron but i dunno. think bout it.. it makes sense |

This song means he just wants to fuck the girl. But then as it goes on he starts to realize that you can never just FUCK someone. All these feelings come out of it. Either feelings of regret or feelings of wanting more than just to "fuck" again. Also, no matter what.. in the end it all comes down to being hurt. Subconcieously ( spelled that soooo wrong) i think Conor, or whoever this son is about, likes to get hurt, and feel abused, and mistreated because it fuels him. He loves feeling bad for himself. And with that he just keeps writing brilliant songs that people like me can relate to. Conor Oberst is grand. :) |

This song reminds me of this past summer. I met a guy named dave though my friend, and daves girlfriend was in florida for the whole summer. So me and dave would hang out everyday. We would sit for hours and talk in his car. We would lay in his bed together, play wrestle, we would have the deepest conversations in front of my house at 4 am. We never kissed. But then his girlfriend came back. I remeber him telling me things will be different when she comes back. Well its been4 months and i havent spoken to him once. Very sad but true story. To some this is a love story but to me its about someone longing for someone else but they cant quite reach them. *sigh* |
