When I first heard this, it was my least favorite song on the album, the intro reminded me of a crappy new local band who are trying to do a solo. & then one day it just clicked.
I think the chorus is about just doing what you want & being what you want to be, and making sure that every decision is what you want to do, and making sure it's real.
& the "what the fuck do you know" makes she's thinking to somebody like her parents who are trying to give her advice because they're older than her, but she's doing what she wants, because it's what she wants to do & she's being herself. |

I LOVE MCFLY. I seriously do, I hate pop, but I really love McFly, I like bands like Blood Brothers, Senses Fail, From First to Last, etc. but I really do love McFly. This song is amazing, they're nothing like Busted, they have catchy riffs, actually have a drummer, to the typical sterotypers who like pop, yeah, they are a clone of Busted, but people who understand stuff like this or arn't ignorant [oooh i'm being all elite here] can actually realise there's a huge difference between the two bands.
In conclusion, I love Mcfly & I honestly don't give a shit if you don't. |

Weird this song, I think I first heard it when I was working at school & there was this guy there & I was really shy towards him, but he got my e-mail address & I was talking like that fine. So I understand the I'm too shy to speak to you at school bit although he doesn't mean it in this way...
I took the floodgates as crying because in the UK we say 'here come to floodgates' so it may mean that he started to cry in front of her? & then everybody looked at him & he fell in love with them all?
I think a t-hut is like a bird house thing or maybe a tree, it may be like a smilie of being 'high in the sky' or whatever...? That's what I think anyway. |

I think he's broken up with somebody & she's said sorry "yeah you're sorry, everybody's always so sorry" & he's sick of hearing saying sorry to him about them breaking up.
"I thought I saw you stray but I love you anyway." - maybe thought s/he was having an affair or something & he confronted them, but he still loves this person, but the telling them they love them is stuck in his throat to tell her that so she leaves him when he still loves her. |

This song almost makes me cry.
My ex-boyfriend got me Snow Patrol's album & I've finally got the courage to listen to it...& when this song comes on I miss him so much especially when the lyrics "To think I might not see those eyes

And as we said our long goodbyes
I nearly did" is really relevant to me because the last day we saw each other we said bye & I really didn't want to go & I nearly cried... so this song is special to me. I really miss him so much, but he said he 'got scared' with the whole relationship, & this song makes me really down...but I still love the song, it just doesn't make sense saying it but in my head it does. |
