My friend and I have been arguing over this one... I've always thought of the meaning as being obvious. Someone feeling numb or not "alive" and begging for someone, apparently a love interest, to "wake me up inside" and make them feel alive again... My friend insists that this song is about sex. And that "wake me up inside", "bid my blood to run", and the video all suggest this. What do you think? |

To me it sounds like this might be about vegetarianism... I know that all or at leas most of the band members are vegetarians and the lines, "And I will not be fed by the lies, Or the lives that are created just to be murdered, its murder" & "And in my heart I wanna undo all this murder And give back the innocent lives Open cages and stop their luxurious murder Its murder" sound like they're pointing towards this... |
