| Actually, this song could possibly be one about the Dragonlance series and how they started disbelieveing in the gods after centuries past from the cataclysm. But, of course, I could be wrong since it says 'Morgrey enters the hall' I have no idea who Morgrey is or what story/myth/whatever he's from so I doubt Dragonlance is the basis of this song, but idk.. | |

This was probably all ready said, but I'm too damn lazy to read through all the posts not to mention the fact that my computer is slow on this site for some reason... Anyway this is what I got from the song: Ok, he's all upset because he realizes that no matter what he does he can't help the person he's talking about. Everytime he/she wanted help from him, he tore 'his heart open' so that he could let the feelings of the other enter him so he could understand better, except when he realizes that he is taking the person's problems and making them his own. 'I sew myself shut' means when he realizes that the other person is making him insane he hardens his heart/closes his heart to the other person and tries not to take in the other's problems. 'I tear my heart open just to feel' means he tore down the wall he had built because he built it around himself so well that he couldn't feel anything anymore, he couldn't express his emotions. He cares too much so he keeps opening himself so the other person can talk to him, the other person is using him as a channel for their problems. When he finally realizes that the person is impossible/beyond help he shuts them out of his life and becomes upset because he feels bad about doing it but he knows if he keeps trying to help someone who is beyond it, he'll never be able to get on with his own life. And obviously he was helping the person against his own counsel, knowing it was useless but compassion's in his nature so he couldn't help but try. The person he was trying to help wasn't understanding why he was helping and wasn't understanding the fact that he was trying to help. So finally realizing the person wasn't getting it, he stops trying to help and gets pissed off when the person comes back to him because he doesn't want to be part of their life anymore or part of their insanity. So that is what I get from the song... Sorry if I repeated myself. But anyway, I'm currently going through this so that's why I see the song as I do. I'm the one trying to help someone who is beyond help but I'm too stupid and compassionate to not help them. So yeah, I'm currently managing to keep the problems from becoming my own, it's working to keep me from becoming emotional... So I think I'm past the 'making me insane' part... |

| And also 'I rise and fall again' Everytime we (the Jewish people) escape the horrors and such and our numbers are diminished and then within a few hundred or a thousand years we build up our numbers only to be pushed down again. | |

I think this song has to do with the end of WWII. After the cmaps were liberated and the Jews went to Israel, the promised land. My evidence to support this: Risin' up from the heart of the desert Risin' up from Jerusalem Risin' up from the heat of the desert Building up old Jerusalem Risin' up from the heart of the desert Risin' up from Jerusalem Risin' up from the heat of the desert Heading out for Jerusalem Mainly 'Building up Jerusalem' and 'Heading out for Jerusalem' And Jerusalem is the captial of Israel, so that's why I think this song is about the Jews that were freed from the camps and built up Jerusalem to what it is today. A thriving city with green land. Can't stand the pain No more grief and misery Referring to concentration/death camps. And the fact that in anchient times Israel was supposed to be a safe land, a place of peace, at least I'm pretty sure but I won't bet on it. |

Well, this is my first one on interpreting a song so I am probably wrong but I don't know. Tell me what you guys think... Anyway I think this song is about the Jews and how they were constantly being persectued. Here's where I draw up my thoughts: We're the last descendants In the line of valiant soldiers We're mistreated angels We are the blackbird nation, we're the chosen ones We're the last descendants We're the tribe of unsung glory We are the fallen angels Well the time is right you shall be on my (side) I'm pretty sure in the bible it states that God made the Jews his chosen people. Also 'we're the last descendents' of the Holy Land. That's what I think. In lower airs we're ground down by their ignorance Well, that's an answer in its own. Ignorant people, those who do not understand, despised the Jews. Hate will grow like a foul cancer To find a foe seems to be the answer Round and round it goes on and again oh I can't get it out of my head Jews are always the scapegoats. Always, the very first religion someone blames. Well that is my analyzing on this song... Though the last lines sort of don't go with my idea but let me know what you all think. |
