| TLC – Waterfalls Lyrics

Just felt like re-typing the 2nd half of Left-Eye's rapping, just to do TLC and this song some justice:
No more lonely cries
My only bleedin' hope is for the folk who cant cope
With such an endurin' pain that it keeps 'em in the pourin' rain
Who's to blame for tootin' cane into your own vein
What a shame you shoot and aim for someone else's brain
You claim the insane and name his day in time
For fallin' prey to crime, I say the system
Got you victim to your own mind
Dreams are hopeless aspirations in hopes
Of comin' true, believe in yourself
The rest is up to me and you |

great song and lyric-wise it is self-explanatory in itself. Especially after all the hurts she had to go through hateful blogs people put in. If only Aaliyah could come back to earth for even a day, i'd like her to sing this out to those who diss her as well...if u dont know what im talkin about go and look at the board on Aaliyah's song 'Rock the boat' at this site.... |

and by the way...for those people who dont even like her or the song why bother coming in here in the first place to place your derogatory comments!!? just comment on your riff songs but dont come barging in here stirring the board up! Taylah, just in regards to your previous comment - there IS a difference between having an OPINION and being ABUSIVE. And i believe some people in this board have gone way too far....so why dont you people just fuck off and comment on songs/singers you all like instead of dissing others out - because really it is offensive not only to Aaliyah but to anyone who reads your bullshit! |

same here i thought that 'work' meant those crappy jobs that desperate ppl revert to like for example a cleaning job - the jobs that require hard labour with crappy pay. but since u mention it it makes perfect sense, esp. when i saw the lines 'Precious gifts that we both received, Or could this be make believe'.
Kinda reminds me of American Gangster. |

Man, im just scrollreading thru sum of u pplz comments and im just reminded of michael moore's 'bowling for columbine' for sum reason.
I've just seen the vidclip of this song and i think its the best one out of all of tools clips. The scene i can't stop thinkin about was particularly the hectic ending. Where that weird man throws that steel box wid that creature inside it whilst it flashes scenes of an human unborn baby. Could it be representing perhaps human manipulation is causing stuff-ups of our inner being as well as the world itself?
Although im a devout catholic i appreciate tool's songs, most especially their trippy videoclips. And with their artistic ways of expressing themselves i truly respect that... except when they mock certain allusions of my faith (if they had). Some of yall may diss me for this but hey....i am only expressing myself in sticking up for the ultimate truth thats out there, especially for all mankind. With that i hope all u ppls future comments (even with no interpretation) can try and respect other ppls opinions and beliefs; wateva they may be. |

| Mike And The Mechanics – The Living Years Lyrics

I've heard this song on the radio last week, recognising its familiar 80's sounds. Usually one of those songs considered to be left for granted by others, but yet for the first time then, i actually listened to the lyrics and it was so moving. My father also just passed away about 9 months ago so you can imagine how touched i was feeling listening to the song's obviously deep messages.
My message to fein_mess: If you're reading this, i just want to say that i fully understand your situation. About not being able to be close to your father before he died. I managed my best to to be close to mine, but was closer to mum. Knowing that he wanted it to be the other way around breaks my heart. So i just want you to know, you're not the only one. It's normal for everyone yet i'm pretty sure your dad knows how much you love him.
For all those who also lost their fathers, i also apply this message for them as well. And as for those who hasn't; please love them, cherish them and give them the happiness they deserve. Show it to them too. Before they leave for work or anywhere, tell them 'i love you and take care'. Every single time i'd say that to dad, but on that very day i wasnt able to, since he had to leave for work so early at 5am. The line from the song really hit me hard about that:
"I wasn't there that morning
When my Father passed away
I didn't get to tell him
All the things I had to say"
And finally, for those whose families still feuding; please make peace and amends or you might regret it. My uncles, after over 10 years of quarrel, pride and misunderstandings, have only just patched up because of my dads passing. He was their youngest brother.
It's not just about justice; its about opening your heart towards the people you love. That, i think is probably central to this song's meaning. |

Anyways, this song is nice but chillingly sad; her voice is extraordinary, altho abit annoying at that belching part. But nontheless....still wishing and hoping that r&b will get back to the way it used to be...=( |

first time i heard dis song was wen she was on bert newton show (aussie morining show) were it was just purely piano. such a beautiful song i thot even tho i couldnt understand the lyrics coming out of her mouth. hehe. anywayz its only now that im reading the lyrics, and according to everyones comments, i'd say i agree with it all. now understanding the meaning of this song i especially love the part that goes "I won't push you - unless you have a net". that sounded really sweet to me, coz like everyone sed here it is actually unconditional love; like she wouldnt mind just as long as he's happy with his decision/s even if its without her or if he doesnt love her bak da same way she does for him. |

This song is so like Jill Scott's "Gettin in da way". Both songs have the same meaning. And that is, it is about another girl (more likely an ex of your boyfriend) who tries to convince you that he is not over her, while at the same time, tries to win him back again. And basically, obviously, the songs display words that you would definitely be saying if that happened to you; tryin to pick a damn good fight with her to keep your man. I love songs with these comebacks! =D |

This song has a whole lotta feeling and yet, most agreeable to others, a true classic that will never fade. I have heard from Ms Keys herself that it is her most favourite song right before she sang it to dedicate it to her audience during her Sydney concert! And man, it was awesome. What also captivated me was that she, herself wrote this song and was recorded in Paris. =D
Everytime i hear this song, makes me think of New York for some reason. It reminds me of those romantic movies being filmed there like "An affair to remember", "Sleepless in Seattle" and "One fine day". |

Dear SOAD_Fan_UK,
Im just wondering, just how old are you? Because all of your racist insults you've just written sounds very rude, offensive, ridiculous and let me see - immature! Who the hell do you think you are to be able to judge another human being due to their race or culture? No matter where we bloody came from we are all human beings, created in the image of God. It don't matter about what shit we did. It's not like, say 'Hitler was the worsest person in the world and, therefore, all Germans are shitheads that want to kill and take over the world'. I swear, and I am sorry to say this but, all your bullshit mentioned, is not only meaningless but it's just plain pathetic.
As for me, I am not a Jew. I am a full Christian Catholic of an Asian background and proud of it. I'm really sorry for having expressed my outburst here but what needed to be said had to be said. After all, being Evangelical and all, I need to point out some things to make even the smallest difference in this crazy world we're living in; such as what SOAD is doing in their songs.
So in conclusion, I am now in a decision to report this kind of abuse you are portraying here, because really, this sort of immaturity must not be tolerated.
Peace out!
Awake
P.S: My extreme apologies for typing this up even if had nothing to do with the song's meaning. And by the way, SOAD rocks, their music rocks, and as for this song, still not sure what it means; I'm just guessing it's about youth suicide and that Serj is feeling upset about it, therefore ending with Jesus' cry for stopping the pain. |
