| Dave Matthews Band – Blue Water Baboon Farm Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Hey Goochy, I'm sure he wasn't a hardcore addict, but I meant before he started getting that much attention, like right before the band formed. I don't know, probably no correlation though. | |

Wow, hear it for the first time and am set back! It's amazing how deep these lyrics are! The guitar is minimal and yet it's incredible. I can see how this song is about each: suicide, heroin, growth. There was an issue of Rolling Stone I read about Dave( the one with him in the fur hat) and he talked about how he thinks about suicide all the time, and Dave did supposedly take heroin back before he started the band, that's why there are no early pictures of him in short sleeves. |

It's been rumored that Dave used to be into heroin way back before he started the band and that's why in the earlier pictures you never see him without long sleeves on. After coming back to the states from South Africa he allegedly moved around a lot. Some time ago, after traveling a little and running out of money, he had to move back to Charlettesville with his family. That would give him reason to write about playful beginnings (when he set out) and his hope to see his bad luck turn for the better. This song's lyrics are poetry put to music. I interpret this as such, he's living in a place that symbolizes the state he's in, most likely literally a warehouse or as Squeeqe said a place he could go. |

| Dave Matthews Band – Rhyme & Reason Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| There have been rumors that Dave used to be into heroin quit a bit back in the day, that's why he's always wearing long sleeves in most of the older pictures. That would explain the song. | |
| Dave Matthews Band – What Would You Say Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I don't think there's too much to look for as the lyrics go. this is a song where there isn't really an overbearing message in the lyrics. It's not a nonsense song but it's basically asking what you would do or say in these various situations. There are some small messages, but nothing really powerful | |
| Dave Matthews Band – The Stone Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I remember watching some television show where an audience member asked Dave what he did that was so bad that he would write 'The Stone' and Dave replied that it was written from someone elses point of view, which opens up a lot of possibility. It is crazy to think that Dave may have written from his sister Anne's husband's point of view, who murdered Anne then killed himself before 'Under The Table' came out The dark and regretful part of the song could be where the someone is feeling paranoid and mournful of something he's done. The lighter part could be where the paranoia lifts and he realizes the situation he's in |
