Don't forget this album was within 18 months of the UK-Argentine conflict over the Falklands (which I'm ashamed of, especially the Belgrano). Inpraiseofolly: Although I think you are wrong about this song having just read ALL your comments.... In England 'getting pissed' 100% means getting drunk, not mad. Also it is 100% 'homefires burning'. We used to have all these 'homefire plants' in the UK when we were an industrial nation, which isn't true any more, much to the disgust of left wing people like Roger and myself. PS I have tickets for Roger next month at the NEC in England, I can't wait 8-D |

I think it's blatantly obvious what this song is about. Although it's simple, I find it quite inspiring.
I had their first album and I liked it but not that much, however I can't stop listening to Yours Truly Angry Mob. It's ace!! |

I am a huge Floyd fan. In the UK the first Scissor Sisters single was Comfortably Numb. I hated it. But then I chanced upon the rest of the SS's album, and I love it. Comfortably Numb should have been left alone, it is such a great record. But I almost forgive the SS because the rest of the album is sooooooo good! BTW the lyrics above are very, very wrong. 'just dont face the facts'/ 'just the basic facts' lmfao hehe. 'This IS how I am?' No it ISN'T!! Who contributed these lyrics? Not a Floyd fan obviously lol |
