First off... love the music video to this... fuckin hilarious. But my original thoughts on this song (before the video) were those of a guy falling under the spell of a female vampire. (bear with me here). a narrative where the artist is leaving a message to his parents about his new found obsessive kinda love. how everything is amazing in the beginning... The first line that sounds vampiric is: "i know i'm young but if i had to choose her or the sun i'd be one nocturnal son of a gun" then he goes on to say: "she's got a smile that would make the most senile annoying old man bite his tongue" which speaks to her powers of manipulation. "she's got eyes comparable to sunrise" does that remind you of vampires with red eyes? "she's got porcelain skin of course she's a ten" Pocelain skin... like the dead right? "she's got the cutest laugh i ever heard" For some reason i imagine her evily laughing over him while she drains him... and him blissfully unaware... "and we can be on the phone for three hours not sayin' one word and i would still cherish every moment" again speaking to her level of control over him. "everywhere i go i keep her picture in my wallet like you." for some reason this makes me imagine him carrying a blank photo (vampires can't take photos right?) which goes into the whole "not much of a girlfriend, but she's the only one i got" Yeah I know it's a stretch, but I've been in those energy vampire sort of relationships before... I think most of us have (or will) at some point... but anyway that's my two cents. :) |

actually I find this concept intirely mindblowing.... the idea of backmasking is used to put hiden messages into the subcontious... as with that big controversy over one band (can't remember there name) playing hiden messages... but this one is totaly different, the secret message is something possitive... it's actually telling you to do good things...... until you do what the song was meant for you to do, and you play it backwords..... while listening to it in reverse your getting all the bad shit subliminaly telling you to kill yourself..... thus the genious to it... it's when you play it backwords and consciously here the good stuff that you subcontiously hear the bad stuff..... kill yourself... etc... brilliantly poetic i think.... |

yeah, i'd say herion... but heres somthing u might or might not find interesting, if this song is played in reverse... about 1.23 minutes into the song (while played in reverse) is the same guitar solo near the end of the song (while played forwerd) even better is 2.23 minutes into the song (while in reverse)... it says says the lines "I don't mind the sun sometimes the images it shows " and "You never know just how you look through other people's eyes" so maybe there is some emphasis on those lines? |
