I think this is such a clever song. We're forced to read between the lines and i like that. The song is about a guy and his best friend who he seems to have a crush on. Both being guys, "SLACKEN TIES" gives that away. By "NOT TO LOOK AT YOU IN THE SHOES BUT THE EYE" he's saying He's doing what he knows he shouldnt do but he wants to anyway. They're kids being rebellious in every way imaginable. Its hot. He "TELLS OF THE BOYS HE HATS, ALL THE GIRLS HE HATES" - notice he doesnt hate all boys? Read between the lines! The other boy says the he'd "HAVE A HAPPY LIFE IF HE DID THE THINGS HE LIKED" ...life would be happy if he didnt have to act straight. He's saying "Lets leave this world" and be happy somewhere. "FIND ME AND FOLLOW ME... ITS BETTER IN THE MATINÉE". This song is a story of two young boys in love and how rebellious it is. |
