| Amanda Stott – She'll Get Over It Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
Its a song about how a guy should let the girl go when they are breaking up rather than hanging on after the relationship has failed. It's not meant in a heartless way. It's about letting her get on with her life, by letting "someone else take your place". Its also a song to let the girl know that she'll get over any break up and be alright again.
My fav song by amanda. She's is awesome in concert. |

Wow! First comment. This song is so awesome.
Meaning is pretty simple: guy likes a girl who is attached to some wealthy guy. The rich guy treats the girl like a 'trophy wife'. The girl goes along with it b/c he is rich and this is suppose to be the prefect life. The narrator wants to take her away and treat her better. |

The video is really cool and meaniful:
It really looks at society. Everyone wants to be saved, but we are too concerned about ourselves to save other people. The clock is passed from person to person by saving them. When the guy realizes what he's seeing he immediately tries to find how much time he has left. But he can't save himself. He can only pass on the saving to someone else before his own time is up. It's funny how as soon as he gets rid of this 'curse' he immediately goes back to his cellphone. Definately a statement about society.
The song itself talks very generally about how everyone needs to be saved. If only we would tell each that we're all worth saving. Everyone has a time in their life when they are calling out for help from god, ppl, etc. Someone needs to reach out and help these ppl, since we all can relate to the song. |

Ok, I haven't read everyones comments so sorry if this has been said a couple of times before.
I think mostly the interpretations are mostly right. However, I think that 'White Houses' are more about their parents houses. To me, the song is about those rich kids that run wild behind their parents' backs. They grow up in this ideal neighborhoods with matching 'white houses', but actually arn't as perfect as they seem. Now that their grown up, they will always keep their wild teenage years a secret in the white houses they grew up and got crazy. |

Wow amazing song. easily my 2nd fav. on the alblum after let me go.
This song is fairly vague so it's up for interpretation. I think it's about when you know something is troubling the person, but you can't do anything about it. The person has some kind of problem, but won't actually do anything about it.
Question - does the line 'behind those eyes you lie' refer to not telling the truth? it sort of seems like a play on words to me. Now comment on this song... becuase I still don't get the full meaning. |

Amazing song. Kalan was watching the news when he got a phone call from a stranger who had found Kalan's wallet. Kalan wrote this song b/c he was amazed that even with all the horror in the world, there is good here after all of it. (He wrote this one himself) |

I already posted for this song, but I have to rave again. I LOVE THIS SONG! I really can relate to this song b/c I have secrets that hurt my relationships.
Anyway, I was listening to the radio and I found out what this song was written for. Spiderman 2! The song fits really well with the movie. The group decided that the song deserved better than a soundtrack so they put it on their new album. 8 Days til Seventeen Days!! lol |

First person to comment! Lucky me.I love this song.
I'm not completely sure about the meaning. The girl is using the guy and 'humming along' in their love song instead of singing (meaning she was never invested in the relationship)
Maybe someone else can explain it better |

First, I would like to say how proud I was to finally discover this track on the CD. It was one of those great discoveries that occurs because you are lazy (and don't shut off your cd player when the cd finishes)
The song is vague. I don't think they intended a certain meaning for it. It just about someone who has made mistakes and then moved on, but they are now headed for the same road they were headed down before.
Perhaps a recovering alcoholic? |

Brad said this during an interview on Launch.com:
You know, I can't really think of a particular incident that inspired the song, but it's just like, I don't really like to see people put up on a pedestal a lot. "Kryptonite" is saying-- from [the point of view of one] person to that person looking up to him--"If I weren't so great to you, or whatever, would you still be there for me?" |

The songs about after breaking up. The other person has moved on, but you can't move pass your feelings. You "know [you've] left too much mess and destruction to come back again" yet you just can't let it go. Yet you must act like you've "moved on" so you don't drag the other person into passed history.
This is the story of my guy friend who always loved me even though I didn't feel the same way. He hung around for years pretending he had gotten over me, while he still thought about me all of the time. (actually, quite distrubing from my side) |

The basic meaning of the song is that the guy is sorry for hurting this girl. He deeply regrets what he has done and is going to change b/c of her.
I think I understand what happens in the video. The girl sees the guy across the street and walks over to see him. However, he is involved in a robbery and can't have her around. The guy in the car hits her so she can't distract the guy from robbing the store. I'm not really sure what that all has to do with the song though...
I always see a senerio when listening to the song. It's sort of based on this book I read called Tenderness by Robert C-something.
This guy continues to hurt women (abuse or something) but eeverything changes when he meets this one girl. She makes him want to be a better person. Yet somehow he ends up hurting her, just like the other women. I imagine the guy is saying all this to the girl before he is sent to jail. "and so I have to say before I go that I just want you know-" He promises that he will become a better person so he can show her "a side of me you didn't know".
Well, that's all I have to say about the song. :) |

This song is about a guy who trys to hide his dark side but he can't "escape these things inside". He wants the girl to let him go b/c she is a better person than him. -> "your not something I deserve" He feels that the girl wouldn't love him if she knew everything he keeps secret. |

I agree with Keepbabbling's interpretation. Still, part of this song bothers me because the guy is saying that one day the girl will love him. That's what my guyfriend said to me and it really annoyed me. No guy is ever going to wear me down so I will love him. Argh. |

I love the first two lines: "i'm not suppose to be scared of anything but I don't know where I am" I think the song is about dealing with all your problems by yourself. You feel so overwelmed because you are alone. "buried underneath the weight of the world" Great song!! |

The song is about someone who has become almost dependant on their dreams. They look forward to slipping into another world, a world she can control, every night. I really relate to pieces of this song especially "alarmclock screaming monsters" |
