Eve 6 – Good Lives Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I'm still floored that these guys only sold 195k copies of this record, if they had just released this yesterday the radio would be all over this shit, I guess thats what you get for being ahead of your time. Amazing song...'Promise that forever we will never get better at growing up and learning to lie.' |
Jack Johnson – Symbol In My Driveway Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I'm suprised no one took this angle: Anyone ever do any research on methamphetamines? Made with phosphorus, many times smoked from light bulbs, very, very destructive and unproductive, generally involves a million 'dollar friends' to hang around hoping for crumbs and *der* dollars. The bipolarity the song has is another clue....I dont know, just thinking here... |
Sublime – Burritos Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Come on guys, Jesus, anyone even consider the fact that the man died form a heroine overdose? Anyone ever done heroine for a while? Go a head and get out of bed. :| |
Foo Fighters – Razor Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I would watch out for those orchestrated or added bits when they pay live. They've got the passion to do so, I'd be expecting it. |
Foo Fighters – What If I Do? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Ha. Here's what the foo website lists these lyrics as: Back and forth, that voice of yours Keeps me up at night Help me search to find the words That eat you up inside I go side to side like the wildest tides In your hurricane And I only hide what is on my mind Because I can’t explain What if I do, Lord? What if I don’t? I’d have to lose everything Just to find you It’s my turn, this soul won’t burn So throw me in the fire Trophies earned and lessons learned From wicked little liars We could pave new roads with their cold gravestones And wind them through the pines Should I stay or should I go alone? I cannot decide. Carolina. ..... Notice, 'what if i do, lord...' Anyone got any ideas? Email me, Michael@spywarelabs.com........searching. |
Flunk – Six Seven Times Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song makes me feel like I am floating. Sort of heroin-esque, it's beautiful. I think she is tying very hard to be very careful how she allows her feelings to manifest themselves becuase she fears being hurt....again, possibley. |
Jimmy Eat World – Work Lyrics | 19 years ago |
You know the Connells?! Bless you, son. And yes, they do remind me of the Connells, at least emotionally speaking. The rest of the album leans further away from that 'genre' of jangle pop type stuff, but still good. ;) PAx. |
Rufus Wainwright – Little Sister Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It is, but what in the world does this song mean? I cant put my finger on it? |
Rufus Wainwright – Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I really dont like the Rufus version, although, I, LIKE RUFUS (see Memphis Skyline) am in love with Jeff Buckley. And yes, it was a Leonard Cohen song covered by Buckley, then by Rufus. |
Rufus Wainwright – Memphis Skyline Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is a song about Jeff Buckley! Listen to it, read the story of how Jeff died....Hades under the Mississippi....Memphis......the way he looked....Hallelujah...Turn back and you will stay under the Memphis Skyline...do you see it? I do. |
Relient K – College Kids Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Ya know, guys, I dont really think this was meant to be a humorous song, or I guess we can say a 'non-serious' song. I think it is about the fact that all in the world he wanted to do was play music, he somehow knew that college wasnt for him, that it was a big waste of time, but he did it anyway becuase everyone wanted him to. Thats he says 'Oh no, not for me, not for me Call it torture, call it university', I am in this exact situation. I went becuase everyone wanted me to, and it was torture, it was not where I was supposed to be, as weird as that sounds. Not that I'm knocking university or anything but like the man says, 'not for me, not for me'. :) |
Jeff Buckley – Eternal Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
=I'm sorry all you guys who think that his music should go unquestioned, but do you even know who Jeff Buckley was, or what he stood for? He would roll over in his grave if he heard someone say not to question his music. That was his passion, making people question. |
Danzig – Mother Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Don't you see? This song is not about the groups of people mentioned in the song. It's about the storyteller. He is saying, in a melancholly and sarcastic way, who he is, and what he feels. It's an insight to the portrait he has painted of himself in his mind, unsure, insecure, larger than life, confident, ugly, and beautfiful. Interesting... |
Simon and Garfunkel – Mrs. Robinson Lyrics | 19 years ago |
If you read the insert of the movie 'The Graduate' you will find that Mr. Simon had been writing a song entitled 'Mrs. Roosevelt' (pardon any misspellings) a as a social commentary regarding life and times in his era. He was apporached about the movie and adapted 'Mrs. Roosevelt' to the picture, renaming it 'Mrs. Robinson'. Therefore, I think i t is a mixture between the social commentary Mr. Simon was shooting for and 'The Graduate'. |
