I think it's about a guy out late. He's drunk, and along the way who starts thinking about his problems in life. The title "Looking for a Wall" has a double meaning. It means literally looking for a place to crash for the night, and figuratively he's looking for someone to serve as a wall to stop his problems. |

VERY catch song. I don't see why they didn't release this song instead of you are my #1. The lyrics are pretty self explanitory. The song mentions 9/11 and is preaching for the world to get along and for all people to just enjoy life and have fun. |

I LOVE this song. It just fills me with positive vibes. "This too shall pass" is an uplifting, classic statement. In nick hexum's case, he's singing about his youth struggles. I don't think the song is specifically about drugs or drinking, although I'm sure they are included. I think he's singing about all his problems in general. He's saying that any problem he will ever face will pass, so don't worry about the temporary pain. It's an incredibly uplifting statement. |

I love this song, S.A. is sooo funky, I love it. Awesome song, I love the way it sounds on their live album.
This song is an all out tribute to their fans. When they perform it live, they will sometimes dedicate it to certain people for certain fans. At a past show, they dedicated it to a fan who had passed away a short time earlier. |

I think the song came about because of nick hexum's liberal and anti-bush nature, and his disgust over Bush being re-elected. I think the "you" in don't you tread on me is anything that makes his freedom feel threatened, like the patriot act, ect.
By the way I like the final version more than the demo. The major difference was that the demo had a rap in it by Nick which I thought was generic and oddly thrown in. It flows much better without it in my opinion. |

This is what I've heard the song is about:
When they say "You're a Transistor" it show's their belief that everyone is made of the same energy from the sun (conducting to the motherstar) and it flows through us all. We are all essencially the same...it's a messege of peace/unity, anti-racism ect.
The first couple lines is a showing of their disgust of critics...but this song is in no way bragging. 311 usually get's bad reviews from critics and they're saying it's because the critics don't uderstand them.
Personally, I very much agree with them on that point. |

Yes, defintely about out of body experiences.I've had some myself, and SA does a great job of describing them...anyone who has had an out of body experience will tell you that he does a nice job of explaining it artistically and accurately. |
