Personally, when I heard this song it made me think of the AIDS epidemic. When he refers to "TV's hungry child" it makes me think of the children who are orphaned because of HIV/AIDS. Now I'm not saying that is what it means, I'm just sharing what personal meaning I get from it. I think it's a beatiful song that sends a very strong political message and that is one of the reasons I love DMB so much. |

She was talking on Howard Stern and said that she lost her virginity to Dave Coulier (from Full House) and he was much older than her. She was very young and it probably affected her...so my guess is that it is about him. But I also heard it was about Matt LeBlanc from friends...so who knows |

I don't believe Dave was trying to be anti-jewish at all, I think it's just an overall attack on blindly following ignorance and always resorting to war to solve our problems. Yes I see that there are some obvious religious statements in the song, but I don't think he is taking one religous side here. Personally, I love this song;I think Dave struck a deep chord with these lyrics and the way he sings it is so powerful. |

When I was little I remembered hearing this song when my parents listened to it performed by "The Chieftans" and when I heard DMB play it was very nostalgic. This is a wonderful folk song that paints a picture in your head, and Dave's voice adds a wonderful eerieness to it. |

This is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite songs. The intro is just sooo awesome. I could never really figure out what the lyrics meant, sometimes Dave is hard to figure out because he's so poetic. This song to me just feels like raw emotion placed onto paper and he has such a great way of saying things...I love it |

I always listened to DDTW and wondered what it meant. I had many guesses over the years and one day it struck me that he was talking about the forced removal of the American Indians, and when I saw this site and and found this to be true that was awesome. This song is one of my favorites live, and to know that it has such great meaning behind it makes it even better! :) |

I love this song. Its a great start to a wonderful first solo cd. I love the band together more, but Some Devil is a great cd and Dodo is a great song. Im not exactly sure what it means...but it is intriguing to me. |
