i only just heard this song today and I hate it coz it knows too much. He controls her, encages her, and everywhere she turns, there he is. Even in her mind, she cant get away. It'll feel better if you hide under the covers, if your in the dark where you cannot see the hate in his eyes. Pretend theres nothing wrong... your better off that way. And dont you dare tell. Theres no need to. Coz he loves you. Everytime he hits her, its not just external pain, it cuts far too deep. If she delves to far into it, all she will see is the fake him. The one he has created to stop her from seeing who he really is. He owns her, therefore she is his. and his only excuse is that hes lonely. im thinking more a famile member than a boyfriend or watever, but yeah, spose i agree wiv Splaire (again) hey. But i hate this song, coz like i said, it knows to much. But then agin i love it for the same reason. *smiles through tears coz i think maybe u understand. |

i completely agree wiv Splaire!! And this song is my fav too. Except that i think that the motorcycle symbolises control, and the lack there of. And the ground dropping beneath him is like the persons grip on reality. And i also think that they're saying that the best thing that you ever had was life. It could also mean that a friend was the best thing that they ever had. And whether you see it from the singer, or the suicidal persons point of view, they've lost what ment most to them. this song lead me to the muse obsession im going through. I LOVE IT! Its kinda creepy in a way that takes over. Just as the object of this song (be it love or drugs...or both) is taking over the singer. |

| I absolutely love this song. Its like a fantasy to me. Having someone to help me escape. And to feel the same way as me about the things i have to escape from. Definately one of Radioheads best.
