This, to me, is one of the best STP songs. I wouldn't assume that this song is not about rape. "Here i come i come..." and also, the biggest give away (I wanna get next to you, im gonna get close to you, you wouldnt want me have to hurt you too?" Along with the rest of the whole " im not buying your apathy, im gonna learn you my philosiphy, you wanna know about atrocity?" Yeah. Rape for sure. But, heres the kicker. If you listen, its about a rapist, and wanting to know why he does what he does... "i know you want whats on my mind.." And knowing Scott Weiland, thats it to a tee. A guy wanting to rape a girl, (wanna get close to you) threatening a girl (dont want me to hurt you too?), actually raping a girl, (the atrocity, or horrendous act) and then her thoughts,(i know you want whats on my mind) "Wtf is he thinking? why?!?!" thats it.
Even tho its a touchy subject, the song is genius. Much like Deftones "Lhabia" |
