I agree with thoes of you that think that this song is about fatherhood, but it goes deeper than just that. This song has sooo many layer's to it: fatherhood, his own childhood, past relationships, and possiable somthing that he would like to think that his father would say to him. And so much more. But anyways, i love this song so much that i wanna cry when i hear it, kuz I myself am about to be a father, and i am goin to get this song's lyrics tattooed on my arm. That is how much this song means to me. Awasome song, more than awasome band. |

I think that the song goes a lot deeper than what the rest of ya'll are hearing. Honesstly i beleive that the song is from his mother and father to him. They are saying sorry forl eaving him in the ways that they did. And the he is saying that it is okay and he is goin to try to be better than that to his own child(children). And that is my opinion. |
