i love the "trash goes out on a tuesday now, gonna have to make a note about that" bit. something so mundane is of note to your week, until it too fades into routine. This song and The City make me feel quite similar. any1 else get this? |

firstly i think this forum is an awesome resource for fans anywhere. Songs i thought i understood and in particular APC songs, i can now hear differently.... and THiS thread has caused me to finally sign up, so Hi. I was pretty fearful of this cover when i saw this on the back of the CD, it too is my favourite Zepp song and blues track. It's completely out of APC's style and i wondered how they were going to do it justice. In defence, its now one of my favourite songs on the album, and in quiet times is sublime. I think its probably a mistake to play it too loud, its quite subtle, and i reckon the ghostly vocals are only just meant to be audible. lost souls after the flood maybe Since APC have chosen protest songs, its nice to hear it played with the gravity it was once intended. it's very beautiful. esp. the "when the levee breaks" minor to major change & the piano section in the beginning of the third minute. If it had been my cover, id be proud of a f* good job... |
