"I am colorblind Coffee black and egg white" --He sees things only for what they are on the outside. Coffee black describes how he sees JUST the black of the coffee, not how rich it is, not how amazing it can be - it's just there. Same applies for the egg and it's contents. "Pull me out from inside I am ready, I am ready, I am ready" --Pull me out from inside is pretty much a metaphor for him being STUCK inside himself, and asking to be pulled out. I am ready - he wants to give in. "I am taffy stuck and tongue tied Stotter shook and uptight" --Taffy stuck - taffy is a fairly sticky substance, I guess he's saying that he is SUPREMELY stuck - tongue tied is a common phrase used to describe confused - a perfect word to fit this scenario. Stutter shook goes to show that he's shaken by everything, and uptight shows his apprehension. "Pull me out from inside I am ready, I am ready, I am ready I am fine" Same as above "I am covered my skin No one gets to come in Pull me out from inside" --I think this is the most beautiful part. By saying he's covered in skin, he's showing that he thinks that he's trapped inside his body, and to him it's just a big lump of skin versus what's outside. No one gets to come in - fear of relationships in general and how he's locked himself away from everyone and everything. Pull me out once again asking for someone to come in and save him. I am folded and unfolded and unfolding I am colorblind Coffee black and egg white Pull me out from inside I am ready, I am ready, I am ready I am fine The rest if pretty much a repeat of the song. What a beautiful song, nonetheless. |

The samples from the song are actually said by Joey of Dawson's Creek. I love the song, and when I first heard it, I looked up the samples and discovered this. :) kailey |

The perfect breakup song. Sounds like a case of her leaving him heartlessly. Maybe she has a track record for it? IE: "throw away everything to gain nothing at all, but one less person who cares if you end up dead." Sounds like he isn't the first. Kailey |

| From First to Last – I Liked You Better Before You Were Naked On The Internet Lyrics | 21 years ago |

What a beautiful song - it covers all the aspects of a true breakup and how it feels to be dropped. The whole song has a great rhythm to it and is definitely one of my favorites by FFTL. I wonder if the title has any significane with the song and the girl? "I Liked You Better Before You Were Naked on the Internet" sounds a bit over exaggerated. Kailey |

To me, this song has always been about a girl who he's fascinated. Look at how he depicts her as being able to "cure the plague of the holy child, and all the while, she just walked in." As for "it" being fragile and breaking, maybe that could be referred to as a heart of hers or his that has become used to shattering. That's just my interpretation. Kailey |
