Next to 'Black" from Pearl Jam, this is the most heart-felt, honest, most beautiful lyrical song ever created by man. To me it seems that the person is pleading with the love of his life to the point that he would do anything for them. For goodness sakes, they'll drown their beliefs for this person they are in love with....cant get more sacrificial than that. I think that 'true love waits in haunted attics' means that he was willing to give up everything for you, but would you give up everything for him. A haunted attic signifies a very frightening place, he was willing to sacrifice alot for you, he wants to believe and to know that the one he loves would do the same for him. And if they do, the 'dont leave' part wants their love to last forever....as true love will always do. |
