This song to me, uses the metaphor of a bar closing for the ending of some stage of your life.
"every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end" is absolutly simply devestatingly perfectly sad.

The lyrics definately make this song very interesting. There's so many comments on various subjects from music to consumerism to politics.
"Blood and death, we will pay back the debt/For this candy store of ours," definately makes the statement that 911 was a result of the indulgent lifestyle Americans (and the western world) lives. On the other hand "Look, boys and girls, here's BBC/See corpses, rapes, and amputees" is particularly critical of specifically the media censorship in America.
"I know that they sleep at night/Their conscience is intact" would have to be an 'ignorance is bliss' comment, whilst "Jesus Fucking H Christ" would really have to be 'George W Bush'. |
