| Greg Laswell – Sing, Theresa Says Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| For me this song represents war and peace. In the first verse he seems to be talking about leaving a loved one packing up and heading for war, and he'll call her in a couple of days. And the June Bugs represent the enemy soldiers as june bugs are found in big groups. The Theresa in this song reminds me of Mother Theresa and how humanity should praise and sing about happy things and if we do man will be worth loving. The friends falling from the sky would be his allies comming down from the planes. And the sharpening of the angles are the soldiers getting prepared taking aim, but all this person wants it peace and happiness and for the violence to stop. | |

first time i heard this song, it really hit home hard. My mom died 2 yrs. ago after suffering from cancer over the years. And ever word Gibbard says seems so surreal i can imagine everything over again. The part about "as each descending peep on the LCD took you a little farther away from me" really brought back memories. We all seem to be ticking life away slowly and every second we slowly lose, but when you watch seconds tick away on a Screen, you make sure you count everyone. I can tell you who watched her die, her son, daughter, and loving husband and father, she was indeed loved |
