I love this song and the album it came off of. I can't decide if the references to Jesus are based on the religious viewpoints of Page France, or if they use him for imagery purposes. I'm leaning towards imagery purposes, because that's what I am hoping.

Like all Mineral songs, this song is a metaphorical masterpiece. It's simple word-wise, which is what makes mineral so wonderful. They define the phrase 'simple, yet elegant'.
I believe this song is about what it says its about. It's about seeing how happy the world is around you- how perfectly everyone else's lives are comming along and yet you feel lost. Until, you remember, that you have one thing that one change like the seasons or the holidays- something eternally great that few have- someone to love and be loved by. It's a simple song of realizing that even the strongest feelings of melancholy pale in the light of love. |

What a dumb fucking song. First of all, I'm all for political music, but this is just retarded. If you're going to be political, articulate yourself, otherwise you just sound like a dumb fuck trying to be cool and no one will take you seriously. This song has no...anything. It is worthless. And what the hell is with the intro? Typical christian band. To be "hardcore" has nothing, I repeat, NOTHING to do with Jesus. So don't try and connect them.

This song not only proves the downfall of TBS since the departure of John and Sean, but describes it as well. I can't quite decide if Adam's feeling regret or just being arrogant again- knowing that no matter what shitty lyrics he writes to the structures he stole from John that the pre-adolescent girls of America will love it because he has long hair and is in their Teen magazines. |
